    Fat stories

I know what everyone means about seat belts. I can barely get mine to hook in my truck, and I am too embarrassed to buy an extender, so I suck it all in and I eventually get it to hook. I will be glad when I don't have to worry about it anymore!

I feel the same way, Coco. And think of how much funner it will be shopping for clothes in NORMAL sizes!

    Fat stories

GonB, that same thing happened to me once on the same kind of ride. I was with my little brother and he wanted me to ride that ride with him. The (skinny) girl kept trying to fasten it, but unfortunately for me, it wouldn't click. So I had to tell my little brother I was too big to ride and I had to get off. It was SO embarrassing. I don't know who was more mortified, me or the girl trying to fasten it.

    Cramp in my side

Since you asked, I will tell you, but you may be sorry you asked!! LOL The nurse said that your legs are up in the air and your feet are in stirrups. The doctor stands between your legs to do the surgery. The table has you in a position like you are doing crunches. So you are cruched up with your feet in stirrups! So that is why there may be pain in your side because all your weight is pushed down to your abdomen from your stomach and your legs. This is how my surgeon does it anyway, others may be different.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who's broken a toilet seat!

    Cramp in my side

I have the same pain. The nurse told me it could be from the position you are in when they do surgery. (It is kind of an embarrassing position).

Um, I broke my toilet seat once.

Believe it or not I rushed into this

Hi! That's great that they are helping you. I was lucky because my surgeon's office handled most everything with the appeals. They seem to have it together and know the right words to use to get it approved. Is your surgeon's office helping at all? Yes, I live in TN, so we have seasons. It is getting very hot now. I always hated summer because I always felt too fat to wear shorts and tank tops! Maybe that will change soon. I lost 8 pounds the first week! Good luck to you.
  9. I had my surgery 1 week ago today and everything has been fine except I am waking up in the middle of the night about 2 am STARVING. It is the worst pains. It feels like spasms. I mentioned it to the nurse and she said it is probably my blood sugar dropping around that time and it is waking me up. She said to try eating something before I go to bed. I have tried that, but it is still happening. I haven't slept a full night since the surgery because of having to get up and eat. Has anyone else had this happen? I don't know how much longer I can take it.

    Starving

Thanks everyone. It has gotten a little better now that I can have full liquids and not just clear.

Believe it or not I rushed into this

Hi! I am doing great. The first few days were pretty rough, but I feel ok now. I am still on full liquids, but I can have soft food starting on Thursday. I go for my first fill on June 23. Have you appealed again? I heard from someone else on the boards that Cigna recently revised their coverage for surgery, I am not sure what they require now, but it might be worth taking a look at.

    Throwing up!

You should call the doctor as soon as you can. You are probably too tight.

    Saddened By Cigna

I was denied twice by Cigna, and they finally approved me on the third try. So don't give up. You should call them and find out why you were denied. That can help you fix what you need when you appeal.

    May 23rd Is Here!!!

I understand perfectly about the cry! I didn't think I would, but about 4 days after surgery (mine was May 22) I broke down! But I felt SOO much better the next day! And I also started carbs a day earlier. It has made a major difference.

    Second thoughts

I agree that it is easier saying no to bad food. I was worried too about having to give up diet coke, but I haven't even wanted one at all. The way you look at food changes. My husband wasn't supportive AT ALL in the beginnig, but he eventually came around and he has been very supportive since I had surgery. I think husbands are just scared of change. Your husband is probably just afraid of how your lives will change. But it does change in a good way.

    May 22nd!!!!

I think it is normal. They told me it could come and go for about 4 weeks.

    May 22nd!!!!

I am feeling much better. I went back to work yesterday. I am glad I took a week off. I know some people go back sooner, but I was not ready. I have lost 8 pounds in one week! Glad everyone is doing ok.

    Second thoughts

I was banded on May 22, and even though it has only been a week, I already feel like it was the best decision I ever made. I felt the same way as you, I had major second thoughts and almost canceled it altogether. I will admit, I had a rough time the first few days, I felt terrible, and I don't know how some people go back to work so fast. But I feel great now. And I have lost 8 pounds in one week! So I say go for it.

Thanks for the advice. I try to ignore it, but that doesn't work very long!

    Question about Vitamins

Hi, I am taking generic chewable centrums I got at Walgreens. I am also taking 1200 mg of chewable calcium a day. I got them at Walgreens too.

I am feeling much better today, but I woke up with awful hunger pains! I am also having trouble with my bra. It is rubbing up against my incision.

I had my surgery yesterday and I am in a lot of pain as well, mostly where the insions are. I hope it goes away soon.

    May 22nd!!!!

I'm glad everyone did well. I am having quite a bit of pain. They gave me some liquid pain meds, and it is helping some. I can only lay on my right side without much pain. Any other position kills me.

    May 22nd!!!!

Hey, how was everyone's surgery? Mine went ok, I am just very very sore. I got pretty sick when I woke up, but today I am feeling better. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I am not hungry at all, and in fact, I am having to make myself eat. Never thought I'd ever say that!!
