It could just be ketosis. It can produce a sour smell. It is not uncommon to have while losing weight, especially if you aren't eating a lot of carbs. It is normally not anything to worry about, but you might want to discuss it with your doctor.

You are right, I dated a guy once who couldn't climax that way either. I didn't let it bother me. There are a lot of women who can't climax from penetration alone, and it has nothing to do with the man. So I just look at it that way.

LOL, I have never tried because I thought that they would hurt him. I guess I will have to practice!

Well, I have braces, so I can't do it anyway!

Can anyone recommend a surgeon in Tennessee
Carrie_C replied to missymoo78's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Yes, it is normal to have cold feet. I had cold feet right up until surgery! I think everyone does. But you will be fine. -
doedoe, I had to laugh at your post! I pictured in my head ME trying to do yoga!! I actually had some friends recommend it a few years ago, and I thought they were crazy!

Yes, the liquid phase can cause that. It should get better when she gets past that. I agree, you should give her a gift!

What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!
Carrie_C replied to auntlucy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My uncle walked in the room one day and said "You must weigh about 350 now". I only weighed about 230 at that time. And the worst part was he just kept on and on about it. But my mother has probably made me feel the worst about myself. She is always sayng I could lose weight on my own if I wanted to. She has always been overweight as well, but she always puts others down for their weight. I used to drink regular coke and everytime I would go to her house, she would tell me if I stopped drinking that can of sugar I would lose weight. Why does it seem that people who are overweight themselves are the ones putting down others for the same thing? I don't get it. -
I can eat almost anything as long as I chew it really well. I can eat bread as long as I take very small bites of it. The one type of bread that I did have trouble with once was sandwich bread, like the light bread. I haven't eaten it since. I also can eat steak as long as I chew it really well and again take small bites. I think it is different for everyone.

Would You Wear a Mini-skirt?
Carrie_C replied to Jennie1976's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I voted yes too, but I agree, it depends on what my legs look like. I have always had chubby legs even when I wasn't fat. So I'm guessing they will still be that way. That is the hardest place for me to lose. I would look better wearing some low rider jeans with a cute short top showing my belly button because my stomach has never been really big. -
Has anyone had any luck with any of the new creams for stretch marks? I have horrible ones on my legs and I'd be willing to try just about anything to get rid of them!

Thanks for sharing, you look great! I have them on my legs really bad, I am going to have to try it.

Katie, Hi, I had my band put in on May 22. I am doing really well, down almost 10 pounds. This last week has been pretty tough because I haven't had much restriction. I go for my first fill on Monday and I'm sure that will help. But I have been doing great otherwise, no nausea or anything. I only had to do clear liquids 24 hours before as well. I think it is mostly men that have to do the liquids longer because they store a lot of their fat around their livers. I didn't really care who did my surgery, but when I called to make the appointment, they scheduled me with Dr Paynter because Dr Ponce is only in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and those are days I have to work, so I went with Paynter because he is there Mondays and Wednesdays. That is really the only reason. It didn't matter to me, and I really like Dr Paynter, and I am sure they are both very qualified. Good luck with your surgery! The first few days are a little rough, but it gets much better. I am sure you will do fine! -

Dr Paynter did mine in Chattanooga. He is with Dr Ponce. If you go to gastricbandinstitute.com you can read about them. They are great. -
I had surgery May 22 and I couldn't wear a bra for about a week. My port is right in the middle of my chest between my breast, right where the bra goes across. But since my incisions have healed, I have no problem with underwire.

I know what you mean, I have a long way to go too, but we will get there!

What would you like to do/acheive once you have reached goal??
Carrie_C replied to gg2007BandSTAR's topic in The Gals' Room
I would also like to change clothes in front of my husband without being embarrassed. -
swaffson, what a small world! I go for my first fill on Monday, so hopefully that will get my weight loss going a bit more. It is very slow go right now.

That's great!

I know, why are all shirts made for your boobs to pop out of? I hate it. Another thing I hate- it seems all plus size shirts now look like maternity shirts. -
Would you get breast implant.....??
Carrie_C replied to gg2007BandSTAR's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That's good to know. I never can find anything over a 40DD, and sometimes they are hard to find. -
Why am I keeping it Quiet???
Carrie_C replied to sandibly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also prayed about whether or not to have surgery. I prayed for months. And it seemed like it was meant for me to have it. I didn't think I would be able to come up with the money at first. But then something changed that gave me the money to do it. I took that as a sign to have it done. I was also very scared and just when I was about to back out, something would happen to cause me not to. I also didn't think I was going to be able to get time off work, but again, something happened that allowed me the time. Just keep praying about it, and if it is the right thing for you, you will know. -

Phoenix, I couldn't have said it better myself. I relate to everything you said. To me, the easy way out would be staying fat. Everyone questions this in the beginnig, it is only normal. I almost backed out the day of surgery. I had surgery on May 22 and I haven't lost that much, but I would do it all over again in a minute. Cate, I had the same worries as you in the beginning. I only told my family and I didn't tell anyone at work (and we do work closely) because they are all so judgemental, and I didn't need them being the food police. I thought that it would be very hard to keep it from them, but it is not hard at all! You would be surprised how little people actually pay attention to what you are eating. I don't drink with my meals, but I keep a bottle of Water in front of me. No one even notices that I don't drink from it. And I have to eat a lot slower now. So we all usually finish eating about the same time, even though I am eating a lot less than they are. Plus, if your coworkers are like mine, everyone is usally on some kind of a diet anyway, so no one questions how little you eat. -
A girl at work had that procedure done and she hasn't had a period since. But it is only for women who don't want any more children. Since I don't have any yet, I can't have it done.

I'll be happy losing a pound a week. Has anyone seen that commercial about losing 1 pound takes 4 pounds of pressure off your knees?! That's what I think about when I only lose a pound!
