Weigh in... how much have u lost?
Carrie_C replied to Southern Missy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think I need to get a new scale, because everytime I weigh, it says something different. One minute it will say one weight, the next minute I can get on it and it will say something totoally different. -

"Were a late-term abortionist to set up shop in Tennessee and challenge the law, based on past decisions of the court, the law would likely be deemed unconstitutional." I doubt that would happen in my city, because as I have stated before, everytime an abortion clinic is about to open here, they get ran out. The closest one is over 2 hours away. There are a few private doctors who preform them, but it is very difficult to find them. -
Poll: Question For Pro-choicers?.

"It is also very instructive to listen to the testimonies of former abortion clinics and clinic workers, because they were once the providers and now they are pro-life. It takes something to make that happen. You can get more information at Meet the Abortion Providers." I have been to that site before and read a lot there, it is interesting. No, I don't feel raked over the coals. I agree that women need to know the truth. They need to know fetal development, and all the facts, and then be able to make an informed decision without being pressured one way or another. -

I know abortion is legal during all 9 months of pregnancy, but I have done a search on states that allow elective late term abortions, but I couldn't find any. (That doesn't mean they aren't out there). In my state, it is only legal up to 12 weeks. In Georgia, it is legal during the second trimester (don't remember how many weeks exactly), and I have know women who went to Georgia to have one because they were too far along to have one here. -
Poll: Question For Pro-choicers?.
Carrie_C replied to ELENATION's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Two separate questions: 1) why do you think you could never have an abortion?, and 2) if you are not the one to decide if the life is viable or not, as the mother of that life, then who is? And if it's someone other than you who should be making that decision for you, the mother, why is it OK for other mothers to decide to end that life? Well, I don't think I can answer the first question, because I can't say for sure that I could never have an abortion, because I just don't know if I could or not. I know that I do not want kids, I have no desire to be a mother, so if my birth control failed and I became pregnant, I can't say for sure that I would or wouldn't have an abortion. It would depend on my feelings at the time, if it ever were to happen. And if I became pregnant from rape, I don't know that I would want to carry the pregnancy to term. I have never been in that situation, so it is hard for me to say either way. But I do believe, regardless of when life begins, that abortion should be an option to women, especially in these circumstances. As for the second question, I guess most prochoicers believe as I do, that abortion is a personal and private matter, and it is really no one else's business, other than the woman and her doctor. I don't believe women make the decision to have an abortion without thinking it through, and I can imagine that it is a very hard choice to make, one that I hope I never have to make. -

I do have a problem with late term abortions, except I think if there is something really wrong with the baby and it is going to die as soon as it's born and suffer, then I do support a late term abortion. I didn't think there were many states that allowed late term abortions anyway, except for the 2 reasons stated above. But I may be wrong. -

That was my point exactly. Would it have really mattered if she had answered the question? You would have just told her she was wrong, just like you believe everyone else is. -

Maybe they don't answer them for a reason. -

Gadget, if the woman's life is in danger, or there is something seriously wrong with the baby, do you still not support late term abortions in these circumstances?? -
I have never heard of that. I didn't have to stop my birth control.

I had surgery in May and my hair started falling out about 2 months ago. I have tried every vitamin there is and none helped. I started using Nioxin about a week ago, and it does seem to be a little better. I bought a starter kit off ebay for about $20. I am going to keep using it for awhile longer and see if it continues to help. -

I totally agree with you. This was supposed to be a thread for prochoicers. -
Weigh in... how much have u lost?
Carrie_C replied to Southern Missy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You are probably gaining muscle from the running, so that may be why you aren't losing. When I stop losing, I will start eating a little more. That seems to help. -
I only weigh once a week, before I have had anything to eat, and in the nude. If I weigh more often than that, I lose my mind.
-
I don't think I have one either. I have read somewhere that not all women have one. I got tired of trying to find mine. I have tried everything like you to find it, but it's not happeneing.

So true. Right or wrong, it is legal and it probably will always be legal. -
I don't think you should stay on phase 1 longer than the 2 weeks. I don't think it would be very healthy.

Are you talking to me? -
This diet really does work. Once you get past phase 1, it's not that bad at all. I have been following this diet pretty much since I had surgery.

I just wonder how prolifers feel about these couples who have embroys frozen or destroyed because they can't use them. Are they murderers as well? -
Yes, it is a lot more than I could lose on my own too. If I hadn't had the surgery, there's no way I would have lost anything. I would have gained.
