Anyone else dealing with other people comments
Carrie_C replied to Meme1504's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I try not to pay any attention to what people say. They talk about us when we are fat and they talk about us when we aren't, so you can't win with some people. I had surgery in May and I have lost about as much as you. I have had trouble with my fills and being too tight, so that has slowed my loss. But I try not to let it bother me. It will come off, just not as fast as some of the others. -
I didn't know she had a line.

Can you take birth control pills?
Carrie_C replied to Pink101's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasn't told to stop the pill before surgery. They actually stressed the opposite, to continue taking them so an accidental pregnancy didn't occur prior to or right after surgery. -
What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!
Carrie_C replied to auntlucy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have actually had the opposite problem from skinny people. My aunt who weighs maybe 100 pounds said she wanted a band because she was just so fat! And the sad thing was, she was serious!! -
Weigh in... how much have u lost?
Carrie_C replied to Southern Missy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm very happy for all of you! (And I must admit a little jealous! lol). I have had a lot of trouble with my fills which has caused me not to lose as fast. But hopefully everything is straightened out now and I will start losing again. -
You are so right! I will probably have lost a lot more weight by summer anyway so maybe I won't be as worried about it.

Yea, you are right. I am just really vain! I would love to wear some tank tops this summer!!

Can you take birth control pills?
Carrie_C replied to Pink101's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take them and I have had no problem. They are small and go down easy. My doctor also doesn't want us to get pregnant for at least a year. My doctor also says pills need to be the size of a pencil eraser or smaller. Anything bigger than that needs to be broken, crushed, or in liquid form. -
Should prostitution be legal?

Dang, when I think of all the one night stands I've had that I could have charged for.... I'd be pretty rich!! LOL -
I have heard that it can cause the band to erode, so you might want to be careful.

HA HA! Well, you know what I mean! -
That's great. It doesn't matter how we lose it as long as we do!

Should prostitution be legal?
Carrie_C replied to Carrie_C's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well, I have known a lot of prostitutes and they are just working, making money, and paying their bills just like the rest of us! -
Mine actually seems to be getting worse as I lose weight!

Should prostitution be legal?

Yea, most of them are the ones paying the prostitutes! Remember the New York governor? lol -
I don't exercise like I should either. I was doing really well before the holidays, but I have to admit that I used the holidays as an excuse not to do anything. So I am trying to start back.

I agree, I feel more natural too than in the past.

Just because they are prostitutes does not mean that "johns' have a right to mistreat them. -
Yea, phentermine is ok for a few months, but any longer than that and it is not good for you. They told us at the nutrition class to throw away the diet pills and never use them again. That is part of the old way of thinking and it doesn't work.
-
Yes, I suffered some depression right after surgery. I think it is normal. I even had a crying moment where I wondered what I did to myself. But I really did have a lot of pain the first few days. The pain meds did help, but they didn't seem to last long enough. I did have trouble sleeping because I couldn't get comfortable. I would also wake up in the middle of the night starving and I would have to get up and get some jello or something. But it does get so much better. I would do it again in a minute. Just hang in there, and you will feel a lot better soon.

I took phentermine before being banded. It does feel the same to me as far as controlling hunger, but that's it. I hated phentermine. I couldn't sleep and I was very moody. Plus it stopped working after a few months. The doctor actually told me bandsters are not supposed to take it because it can cause your band to erode. So you need to be careful. I wouldn't want to take it anyway. That's one reason I got the band so I don't have to take diet pills anymore.

You are right that it is a sin. But like you said, people are going to live the way they want no matter what.
