I have a lot of fatigue mostly. I get tired very easily. I also have an extreme amount of pain in my neck, shoulders, back, knees, just about every where. Sometimes massage works, but sometimes it makes it worse. Heat helps a lot. I find that when I don't get enough sleep, the pain is worse, especially in my neck and shoulders. I have never tried any medications, and to be honest, I don't go to the doctor for it, because I am afraid they won't do anything for me anyway. I guess I am afraid they will tell me it's all in my head.

Yea let's make abortion illegal so a young girl will be forced to go to a back alley doctor and die. Yea, that makes sense. -
I saw this on tv and was wondering if anyone has used it. Also, this is probably stupid, but is it safe to do ab workouts? My doctor never said anything about it, so I was just wondering what everyone else was told.

Has anyone been told anything about if it's ok to do ab exercises? I am wanting to get one of those bender balls, but the doctor never said if it's ok to do ab exercises.

I also had major hair loss about 3 months after surgery. I went to the doctor, had all types of blood tests, which were all normal. I tried biotin, I tried every type of multi vitamin I could get my hands on. I even tried that expensive shampoo. Nothing worked. Then one of my nursing instructors suggested I take prenatal vitamins. I thought "yea right, that won't work." But I was desperate, so I decided to try them. They worked! My hair stopped falling out and looks so much better! I just bought the cheap kind from walmart.

I also dropped a shoe size, went from a 9 to an 8. My feet also don't seem as wide.
-
I decided not to get Mirena because I have endometriosis. My doctor put me on Ortho Tri Cyclen lo to help control it, and I absolutely love it. I have had trouble with all types of birth control pills, but I haven't had any trouble with these. No mood swings, and my skin actually looks so much better.

Yes, DEPO is the devil. I still believe that it's what caused me to put on so much weight.

What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!

Sounds like something my mother would say!! -
I colored my hair on Monday and I really don't like the color. It turned out really brassy. I want to redo it but I'm unsure of how long I have to wait. Should I wait a week? Or longer? Also, does anyone recommend any good hair dyes? I used to use the Clairol Hydrience, but they discontinued it. I used the Loreal Excellence Cream this time and I really didn't like it at all.

I can totally relate to the self sabotage.

I also think genetics play a role in our weight. All the women on my mom's side are heavy. My father is also overweight. It makes sense to me that 2 overweight people would have overweight children.
-
Yea. I've really learned who my real friends are and aren't.

Trust me, people notice you have lost weight, they just won't say. A lot people are jealous, and they don't want to say anything about someone looking good. I had that problem where I used to work. I never told any of them I had a lap band. They never said one word to me when I starting losing weight. But when I stopped working there, I found out they were all talking about me behind my back because I had lost weight and they hadn't!

Having complications does mess things up. I haven't had any complications, except for being too tight after every single fill. That has messed me up. The thing for me is, I know I look better, and I know I have greatly improved my health by losing, but in my head I am still the same. When I look in the mirror or look at a picture, I still see the same fat person as always. I guess it is easier to change our bodies than to change what's in our head.

Well I am glad I had this surgery, I wouldn't want anything else other than the lap band because at least it can be removed if something goes wrong. If you have complications from other surgerys, too bad, you are stuck with it anyway! But I just expected to lose more than I have. I would like to go get a fill, but everytime I do, it is too tight and I end up having to go back. If they would just listen to me and not put so much in, it wouldn't be so bad. But they won't listen. I wish I knew how to do it myself!!

Good luck Corliss. You will feel much better when you have your gall bladder removed. I just can't seem to get back into that zone that I was in when I was losing weight. If I could find a way to get back into that mind set, I know I would start losing again.

I have heard that people with a lap band only lose about half of what they want to lose. Now I'm beginning to think that's true. I can't seem to lose anymore no matter what I do.

Eating slow is very hard for me too.
-
That's my problem too. I have good restriction until late in the day.

Nursing school is extremely difficult, but I love it! Stress affects my band too. That is part of my problem. It gets tighter, but I can still eat junk food with no problem. The problem is I can't eat much regular food.
-
I haven't lost anything in about 3 months, but I started nursing school in september and I just haven't been focused on losing weight. I am going to start back at the beginning of the year, but I'm debating if I should get a fill or not.

Why do women have anal sex?
Carrie_C replied to Oregondaisy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
LOL @ triangle!! I totally agree with you, you can't tell anything about a man's member just by the size of him! I have had the same experiences with skinny white boys and a black man! -
Hey I live in cleveland! Good luck with your surgery, you won't regret it!
