What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!
Carrie_C replied to auntlucy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well I'm still wearing a lot of the same sizes too. They are big, and I need to buy some new ones, but I still have a lot to lose, so I don't want to buy a lot right now. -
I don't really count calories, but I get about the same as slim, about 1200 a day. But the last week or so I have been eating a lot more, so that's why I have gained. I have never been the type of person who loses really fast. I still have to really watch it or I won't lose at all and I gain really easy.

Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
That's great! It will be much better once you are past the liquid stage.

No, I wasn't there. I have an appointment in 3 weeks I think for a fill. I am a little scared to get another one because I always end up too tight. But I have to do something. I haven't lost anything in about 4 weeks and I actually gained 3 pounds this week

I haven't seen a thread like that either. But you can go to the gastric band institute's website and it will give you some information. There are also a lot of videos on youtube. If you do a search for lap band, there are tons that come up.

I would like to go, but it is too far for me to drive.

female only Should I be mad at my husband for looking at dirty pictures?
Carrie_C posted a topic in The Gals' Room
Earlier today I was loading some pictures up on ebay and all of a sudden this temporary folder pops up and I notice that there are files in it with girl's names. I open them up and they are all dirty pictures. My husband and I had a problem with this a few years ago (we have been together for almost 5 years). I know some women don't have a problem with their husbands/boyfriends looking at this stuff, but I do have a problem with it. And my husband knows it. He said he wouldn't do it anymore and I believed him. I never did check up on him, because I trusted him. But now I am pretty sure that this has been going on for years. I confronted him with it and he says that he is sorry and it won't happen again. I know that he won't stop. What bothers me most is that he is downloading this stuff to our computer. I wasn't even looking for it, it just popped up. Should I be this mad and hurt? Has anyone else had a problem with this? I would also like to hear from some of the guys. -

Should I be mad at my husband for looking at dirty pictures?
Carrie_C replied to Carrie_C's topic in The Gals' Room
Again, I never tried to hold him to his word to never look at porn again. I even told him that I knew he would look, I just didn't want it downloaded. I don't see what the problem with that is. Some have made me sound like a monster for asking him not to download it. I don't see why it's a problem for him to meet me half way. I have heard from a lot of people to just buy him his own computer so he could do what he wants. I don't know how much money others have, but we can't afford a second computer with an internet connection. We are barely making our house payment as it is. There is no extra money for another computer just so he can look at porn on it. -
Should I be mad at my husband for looking at dirty pictures?
Carrie_C replied to Carrie_C's topic in The Gals' Room
I never once said that I was insecure. And I also never TOLD him he couldn't look at porn. I never even asked him to stop. He VOLUNTARILY told me that he would stop. There is a HUGE difference. I have huge moral issues with this, and my husband claims he does too, and that's why he wanted to stop looking at it. If you will read some of my previous posts, you will see where I said I don't care if he looks at it, I just don't want to see it and I don't want it downloaded on OUR computer where viruses can get in from it and where there is a huge chance that our 17 year old would see it. You haven't even read half of what I have said about it. I also don't appreciate being called selfish and immature. You don't even know me. -
Hello "Onederland" I finally am back, after 10 years!

Congrats! About 6 more pounds to go and I will be there with you! -
Don't be discouraged. It takes some people longer to lose than others. I am losing slow as well, but I have decided that losing slow is better than not losing at all.

I have been having trouble with my birth control pills lately and my doctor gave me some information on the Mirena IUD. I was reading the information and I noticed that it said that it is for women who have already had a child. I haven't had any children so I am a little confused as to why my doctor would suggest it if it is only for women who have already had a baby. Does anyone use this who hasn't had any children? Also, does it cause a lot of bleeding and cramping?

Thanks, I have read about a lot of people having the side effects you mention. I don't think I will do it. I will just have to try another pill if this one gives me problems again. I was on the Depo shot a long time ago, and before I got it, everyone told me how great it was, how they hadn't had a period in years. So I thought it would be great. But I had my period every single day for almost a year when I got it. I also gained about 50 pounds. I have heard the Mirena is like the Depo, so I have decided not to do it. I would rather just get my tubes tied than have to go through that again!

Still on this? None of us have posted here in over a week, so how are we still going on about it??? -
I totally agree with you. It is sad to say, but most mothers do protect the abusers. It is very sad that some mothers won't even keep their own children safe and instead choose a man over her own child. I have 2 older brothers and a younger sister who all were abused, and no one ever reported us to DCF not once. And I know other people had to know what was going on. I just wonder how those people slept at night knowing and doing nothing.
-
Thanks. No one rescued me, but I did eventually grow up and rescue myself.
-
Kat, you are right, abused children do not always show signs. I was also an abused child, but I'm sure no one would have guessed, because like you said, I tried to be as normal as possible.
-
I agree with you again, Kat. If abuse or neglect is suspected, it should be reported. I would not hesitate to report it, and like I said before, I even reported my sister. pattygreen, are you saying that if you saw a child you thought might be being abused, you wouldn't report it? That surprises me, especially since you were a foster parent....
-
Thanks. I haven't had any more problems with my birth control pills, so I am just going to wait and see. As of right now, I am just going to stay on them, but if I start to have problems again, I will look into some different options.
-
You will do great!
-
The only problem I have with charging people for making a false claim is some people who have a legitimate claim may be too scared to report because they may be scared that they would go to jail if DCF doesn't believe them.
-
No, they are not still together today. They did get married and were married for 3 or 4 years, and they had a little girl, but they are divorced now.

Average age of a Bandster?
Carrie_C replied to Kellster's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was 30, I don't wish I had done it sooner because I don't think I would have had the mind set and the discipline it takes to succeed with the band when I was in my 20s.
