gadget, that's great that your kids feel comfortable coming to you. But a lot of kids don't have that kind of parent. What about the kids who have parents who won't help them at all? Where are they supposed to get the correct information about their bodies, sex, and birth control? -
I am really jealous of you all! I had surgery before most of you, but everyone has lost more than me!

That's so true. Since I have realized why I binge, it has helped me to stop some. I just try to find something else to do when the urge to binge hits. Or if I can't resist it, I will try to find something sugar free to eat. I have also stopped buying things that I know I am going to binge on, like candy and chocolate. That helps some, because if it's not in the house, it is very unlikely that I am going to go out and buy something just to binge on. I will find something else healthy that I already have in the house to eat.

I used to use the playtex gentle glide, but I have been using kotex tampons lately. They are about a dollar cheaper and they seem to work better.

I just got a really funny thought in my head. I have a 13 year old brother and I can just see him going up to my mom and asking her how to put on a condom! She would flip! He would be locked in his room forever!! -
I have thought about this a lot lately and I have come to realize I binge eat when I feel like I have been deprived of something. I also use food as a reward.

Oh yea, Bush also stopped all funding for any type of organization that gave information to patients about abortions. So a lot of women went without health care and birth control just because of that. The organizations didn't even have to preform abortions, even if they only gave information about them, they were cut off. -

I totally agree with you! How many teenage boys do we know who are going to go up and ask their mom or dad how to put on a condom?! And you can't trust them to get accurate information from the internet or from their friends! Even if they read the directions, it is still better if they have 'hands on' experience instead of just reading how to do it. We also were seperated at school in forth grade I think and the school nurse talked to us about puberty. We didn't get any sex ed either. Before I started my period, my mother told me that I was never to let a boy touch me and that I wasn't to get pregnant! That's about it. When I was 17 I went to planned parenthood and got birth control because her motto was no sex. I always felt like that was my decision to make, not hers, and I always knew when I got ready, I would do it, but I also knew how to protect myself. I used to read YM magazine all the time and I swear that's how I learned about birth control and everything! -
Yea, you should probably stay on liquids for a while longer.

Bjean, I totally agree. I think teenagers need to be taught that it is possible to wait until they get married. Everything you see now is about sex, tv, movies, music, videos, I can see why teenagers would think that it is ok to have as much sex as possible. That is what they are seeing everywhere. But I also am realistic and I know that most teenagers aren't going to wait, so they need to know how to protect themselves. How many of us can truely say we didn't have sex until we were married? Or that we didn't have sex when we were teenagers? I was outside the norm as well, I waited until I was 18 to have sex, but most of the girls I knew the same age were all having sex. And just because I wasn't having intercourse, doesn't mean that I wasn't doing everything else but that! :mad2: -
I have also had a problem with this. If it is really bad, I would suggest getting a slight unfill. That's what I had to do back in March when my allergies were really bad. It was causing me not to be able to keep much down. It was much better after getting a small amout removed.

Like I said, teenagers are going to be teenagers. It doesn't matter where they live or who their mothers are or if they were raised with morals. Teenage pregnancy happens in every type of family. -
I don't know, though, it might be funny working with a surgeon who saw me naked!! HA HA!!
-
Yea. Hey I'm going to nursing school, so maybe I can work there in a few years! LOL!

I agree with you. I think it is also very sad, no matter who their parents are. -

Did I say anywhere that the Palin family is richer than the Spears family? If I said that, I didn't mean that. I meant to compare Bristol to other girls who are poor and are considered trash because they got pregnant at a young age, and Bristol is being praised for her decision just because of who her mother is. -

How do you even know what Jamie Lynn felt about being pregnant so young? Just because Bristol comes out and says she's sorry, that makes it ok? I agree with BJean, it's all about the Palin's image. At least Jamie Lynn has kept to her self and is not all over the news trying to make herself look better by preaching the abstinence bit. I also think it was very wrong the way the Palin's handled Bristol's pregnancy. They should have came out with it from the beginning. I keep seeing that picture in my head where Bristol is holding her baby brother over her belly to hide her pregnancy. That was just so wrong! -
I would like to attand the support group meetings, but I live in Cleveland and it is so far to drive. Plus I work late, so that's another reason.

Oh yea, by the way patty, aren't you supposed to be a christian? Who are you to judge? You don't know how these girls were raised. You weren't there. -

They BOTH made the same mistake. It doesn't matter how they were raised. Teenagers are going to be teenagers, it doesn't matter if they live in a mansion or live in a trailor park. I am SO tired of people making it sound like Bristol did the right thing by having her baby and should be praised for it just because she is rich and her mother is the almighty Sarah Palin. Meanwhile other girls in the same situation are considered trash. I know things can change, but which father is standing beside the mother and helping to raise the baby, and which one ran as fast as he could? -
I am a year out and I have lost about 50 pounds as well. It is slower than a lot of other people, but I am happy with it. I have to admit that I haven't exercised like I should have, but I have always lost weight slow, so I expected it. I think everyone is different and I try not to compare myself with anyone else. And as someone else said, it also depends on what your BMI was when you started. People with higher BMI's will lose faster than people with lower ones. My goal was to get below 200 pounds within a year and I am about 3 pounds from it, so I am happy.
