I believe one of the 10 commandments is "Thou shall not KILL"...... -
cmexlr8, I would go ahead with the fill. This is only your 2nd so you shouldn't have any problems being too tight.

Does your insurance cover this?

I totally agree with you. It seems that patty takes over every thread and turns EVERYTHING into a religious debate. I don't agree with her views at all. She gives all christians a bad name. So how about we all put her on ignore and then we will all get along just fine?!! :ihih: -
I seem to have less flare ups now than I used to. But I did have a pretty bad one a few months ago. But I don't think it was band related.

Well, I think patty is an extremist. We aren't all like that I swear! -

Calling someone's beliefs "absurd nonsense" and "silliness" is not right to me. I don't believe in how athiests or jews or catholics believe, but I have respect for them, and I would never call their beliefs (or nonbelief's) absurd nonsense or silly. I believe that is crossing the line. -
I have had IBS all my life. I was also worried that the band would make it worse. But it is actually better. I still have some diarrhea and constipation, but I feel great otherwise.

Yea, my aunt thought it was on the outside of your body!

There seems to be a lot of christian bashing on here. I thought we were all supposed to respect each other's belief's (or nonbeliefs), so when did it become acceptable to bash the christian belief? I understand why some of you feel the way you do about christianity because of the way patty talks to people. I don't like her anymore than the rest of you, and I don't like how she judges people and the way she talks to people. But please try to understand, the way patty is is NOT the way true christians act. -
I think we can go see the therapist at Memorial for free for a few visits after surgery. He's the one that did my psych eval. He's really good. I really should see one too. I think I am having an identity crisis or something. I have even had a hard time getting rid of my clothes that are too big now. It makes me sad for some crazy reason. Everyone tells me how great I look, but in my head I am still the same. Does that make sense? slim, are you seeing a therapist at Memorial or one in private practice? If you don't want to tell, I understand.

am I the first May Bandster to have a problem?
Carrie_C replied to bandfan1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh no! Luckly I haven't had any problems other than being too tight. -
LOL! My aunt actually thought the same thing! She thought the band would be on the outside of my stomach!!

my husband is driving me insane!!!!
Carrie_C replied to katie35's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks, I feel so much better since I have lost weight. I have so much more energy. My husband is a little better now than he was, but he is very old fashioned and he doesn't think it is natural to have a band. He doesn't understand food addiction at all. He used to think that I should still be able to eat as much as I could before and he would get mad when I didn't. But I have had the band a year, and now he doesn't really say anything. I will admit that it has been very hard to have him be so nonsupportive. I think that's one reason I stay here so much. -
Yes, they have always charged me for an unfill, and I have had to have a lot! I think I need another fill too, but I'm like you, I'm scared to get it bacause of the variation from day to day. It seems get worse the more I lose.

Does anyone PLAN on having the band removed once they reach their goal?
Carrie_C replied to sarae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't plan on having it removed once I reach goal, or anytime, unless something goes wrong of course. Think of it this way, once you get pregnant and have a baby, how will you lose that weight if you don't have the band? I have heard from a lot of people on here who say that the reason they got the band was because they gained during pregnancies and couldn't get the weight off. -

Carrie_C replied to katie35's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband is the same way. He can eat whatever he wants. He doesn't know what it's like to have a food addiction. Just hang in there and whatever you do, don't let him talk you out of it! -
I don't understand why the band varies so much from day to day. The other day I couldn't keep anything down and then yesterday I was able to eat a whole sausage biscuit.

I'm finally in onederland after about 12.5 months. It has been very slow, but I am happy as well. Some people like their band to be really tight, and that's fine, but I don't like it really tight. I know I probably eat a little more than a cup during a meal, but that is fine with me. I don't want to be PBing and getting stuck all the time either. And I try to eat now the way I will when I get to goal, because let's face it, most people don't stick to 1 cup of food per meal when they get to goal.
