Birth Control Pill and Weight Loss
Carrie_C replied to travelinsnorkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have continued to take my pill since surgery. I am losing slow, but I don't think it is the pill causing it. I am just a slow loser. There shouldn't be any problems swallowing the pill. It is tiny. Beware of what doctors tell you when it come to the Lap Band and birth control. I once had a nurse practioner tell me that my pill was not being absorbed due to my band! Get real! There are A LOT of doctors who have no idea about bands. I think a lot of them confuse it with bypass. -
LOL! Thankfully I didn't know about the position until after my surgery!

Whenever I eat I start off really tight, then loosen all the way after several bites

I have the same problem. It is so annoying! -
Hi, I have Cigna. I had surgery May of last year. Did you have your nutrition and psych consults? They will deny you if you haven't had those. You also have to have the letter of medical necessity. If you have all of that in with your 6 month diet, it shouldn't take long for you to be approved. I was denied the first time, but it was only because the doctor's office didn't fax everything in the first time. Once Cigna received everything, it only took a little over 2 weeks for them to approve me. Good luck!

I'm not freaked out by not having a period. I think it would be a great thing! I just worry about breakthrough bleeding.

I hate "Big Girl". UGGGGGG I am also guilty of evil thoughts. I was so happy when I wasn't the biggest person at my job anymore.

Thanks. I have been reading a lot about it. Everywhere I have read says that birth control pills is the main treatment. I will try it. My doctor said it is best to do them continuous after having the lap surgery to remove the endo. He says it gives you a fresh start and helps prevent the bleeding. I tried the Depo shot before and I hated it. I bleed for 9 months straight. But that was before I knew I had the endo. But I still wouldn't go back to it. The side affects are awful.

I had lap surgery on Monday and the doctor said I had endometriosis very bad. He lasered it off and he wants me to be on birth control pills continuously, not skip a week of hormones with the placebo pills. He put me on ortho tricyclen lo. Has anyone else tried continuous birth control pills for treatment?

Britney Spears is great to listen to while exercising. -
I used to work with a nurse practioner who would put men in stirrups when they needed an anal exam!!

I remember that feeling. I actually felt that way all the way up to surgery. I remember being wheeled to the OR thinking "No stop, I can't do it!" But now I'm SO glad I did it.

Well that's why I didn't tell my husband! I had my surgery over a year ago and he still doesn't know!
-
LOL! I wonder that too!!!
-
Seriously that's what the nurse told me! She said the doctor stands between your legs to do the surgery!
-
Well, not only do they make you go underpantless, you do know that both your legs are up in the air right?!

No problem. Let me know if you see him and what you think about him. I have never seen him myself, just heard about him from other people. -
Well, they could have did all of that too if they wanted!!
