How are you feeling? How much weight have you lost?

I hate my scale.... its broken... or I am
AmandaWho replied to AmandaTherese's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey girl. I was sleeved the same day. I've lost a total of 25 lbs (including the pre-op diet) and currently stuck in the stall everyone keeps talking about. It's sucks but don't give up! -
What do you do when you're craving them and it's driving you nuts? I'm on the protein only stage and I'd give anything for a vegetable and some carbs and when I smell other people eating them, it's making me crazy!

Burning Reflux - Horrible
AmandaWho replied to Holly McQuillan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can relate to the photo you posted. Right after surgery I wanted to throw up all the time just bc of the heartburn! My dr told me to do over the counter nexium but if it continues passed a month they would give an RX. THANKFULLY it's gone away. Call and ask the dr for omeprazole. -
My diet is 4 weeks protein, then vegetables, then a month later fruit and at 6 months I can have minimal carbs.

I've been the same weight for an entire week and I'm frustrated! I was just sleeved on 5/31 and including pre-op (2 weeks liquid) I'm down 22 lbs. 15 of those were from the pre-op diet. I'm doing everything by the book so I can't understand why I'm stuck. Anyone have advice? (I'm a once a week weigher, not daily) Thanks in advance!

1 week, no weight loss!

They said the same thing to me and I was like what! But congrats on the weight loss. I will just keep drinking my water, eating my bland foods, and walking. Hopefully I can lose at least another 20 by my wedding in October. Staying optimistic at this point! Thank you ! -
I think you're fine. I know you're on a liquid diet still but I came out of the hospital eating eggs so if that was your 'cheat' it's not the end of the world. Hang in there, you've come this far. You can do it.

Thank you everyone -
I had sashimi yesterday bc I'm not allowed carbs for a few more months and it was wonderful.

Tastes have changed significantly
AmandaWho replied to itstime4me123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been having that issue with everything I eat. I did the 2 week liquids and was so excited to have real food and now everything's ok the first time, but when I have it again I'm like... no thank you! -
Anyone not on liquids post op? I was on a 2 week pre-op liquid diet and day one at home I'm off liquids and in soft mushy foods from the food processor like fish, tuna, chicken and eggs. I see a lot of people on liquids or shakes for a week or so after and was just wondering if anyone was on the same diet as me and how successful you were. Thanks!

I'm just about a week out (tomorrow) and I barely eat. I just can't do it. I can't hold a lot of food. I have a fork full here, a fork full there, a protein shake for breakfast. I'm only getting 30g of protein and 40oz of water a day. If I push it, I get really nauseous. I know the new stomach shouldn't hold much but is this normal for week 1? I've heard other people are hitting their water and protein goals and I'm struggling.

I have my appointment tomorrow but I was just looking for some info til then.

I'm going to talk about my poop now.
AmandaWho replied to SassyScienceNerd's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I came here for the title because it made me laugh. I'm having a similar issue. I didn't go for 7 days after surgery and it was pitiful! Hopefully we can get back to normal sooner than later. -
I'm going to try doing more shakes and less actual food bc I'm struggling so hard
-
I've heard that a lot but my dr has me on mushy foods straight out of the hospital. They gave me eggs before I was discharged. I did 2 weeks liquid before surgery. I've been having tuna with a small amount of olive oil mayo, hard boiled eggs in the food processor, hummus, and shredded chicken breast. Tonight I'm trying a piece of salmon. I've been doing a protein shake for breakfast but it literally takes me 2 hours to drink 11oz.

Timeline confusion
AmandaWho replied to soreadyforachange's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to set up all of my appointments by myself. The coordinator only set up my surgery date and the day before the hospital called with my time. They should have given you a list of the clearances you needed and then it was up to you to get the appointments and make sure you go to them. -
SOOOOO over protein shakes

Check out herbox sodium free broth packets. They were a life saver for me. No salt, 10 calories. They breakup the monotony of the shakes. -
Surgery on 07/03. What do I need?
AmandaWho replied to Angelcharm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just bring a change of clothes and a copy of your surgical clearance, license and insurance card because you never know. And as far as what to order, it depends on the diet your doctor puts you on. I'm on a mushy food diet straight out of the hospital but many people are on liquids only. (I did 2 weeks liquid before surgery). If you have to do liquids before I highly recommend herbox broth packets. They come in sodium free and really break up the sweetness from the shakes and they're only 10 calories! Good luck! -
I went home the next day. Hey had to do a barium swallow the next morning to make sure there were no issues and that I could tolerate swallowing. I'd ask your doctor about staying over. They may do the swallow test the same day though. Every dr is different.

Same. I'm only about a week out but everything I can eat just tastes bland. (I'm on mushy foods like Tuna and egg salad that are not bland). Hopefully when I progress to the next stage it'll be better!

Got sleeved today....need reassurance!
AmandaWho replied to RHmama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 5/31 and yesterday was my first day of feeling better. Today I'm even better than yesterday. The first 3 days after were rough, I'm not gonna lie to you, but it gets better!! -
I'm on day 8 of my liquid diet. I'm down 11 lbs. every day is a struggle. I don't even want to eat bad food, I just want to chew something. The worst part of his is I have a texture issue and can't even force myself to eat the sugar free jello or yogurt because it makes me gag. I also don't like coffee. Anyone have any tips for the next week? P.S. I'm refusing to leave my house for the Memorial Day BBQ's because that'll put me right over the edge! Thanks in advance. You guys are always so great!
