Had that problem myself. Carb withdrawal. Be sure to get the allotted amount of carbs if your still having this problem. Add some carbs of some sort to your shakes. I was allowed to blend in some fruits with a Vitamix as long as I didn’t go over 15 grams per shake. Also drink lots of water.

I know it’s not food but 1/2 a cup of gold weighs 5 pounds. Just saying weight and density varies tremendously even with foods.
-
I may have missed it in an earlier post but what is the recommended weight of your portions/servings.
-
What? No I’ve been able to eat that amount since puréed. I fear that could be an issue down the road.

I stay clear of anything sugar free. If I’m eating something like that it’s real or no deal. Just no trust in the ingredients. -

No problem. They can be helpful.

Perfect! That’s the same amount I eat. Nice choices to.

I have 1/2 cup bowls made by Fit n Fresh. They’re perfect for taking things with you.

Where from? That looks just like my Binder.

Around 3 oz on the scale fills the cup or 3 oz protein then the remainder in veggies. If I’m feeling really hungry I eat more protein.
-
Read my reply on this thread. 2 shakes for meals seems ridiculous. You can get protein without them.
-
Yes! 1/2 cup of food. If your eating lettuce consider how much you could compress into a half a cup compared to a dense food. Another thing to consider is the liquid in most fruits & veggies. If you eat watermelon how much is water versus dense food so of course you can eat more & some may need to. I was told to eat hearty/dense foods so if I’m eating tomatoes for example I might go ahead & throw in a couple of extras. As for protein you can search for a plant based powder or plant protein specific meal. If your eating meat consider the protein in different cuts. Some contain higher amounts of protein than others for the same size cut. I’ll post some photos I took at the grocery store that I refer to when selecting meats to use in my meals. You really shouldn’t have a problem getting your required protein without adding in more than one bar or shake & sometimes none at all. I only eat or drink bars or shakes containing 30 grams of protein.

That’s exactly what I’ve been doing after coming to the realization that it is possible to overeat. That amount of veggies seems like such a small portion but if you get a variety of small pieces of different fruits and veggies on each plate your going to get the needed nutrients. On the other hand eating the same fruit or veggie all of the time could leave you deficient of some much needed nutrients. A good amount of protein & the best variety of fruits and veggies you can get on your plate is going to give you the best needed nutrients as well as better health.

Yeah even though we’re supposed to avoid pasta/bread those are a nice treat once in a while.

100 Peeps? That was on an episode of Malcom in the Middle. Francis at 100 Peeps. Oh and this post was for you FluffyChix because that’s what Chix sound like. lol -
Yes! My meals are always around 1/2 cup average but I also use a food scale to get an idea of what 1/2 cup looks like with different varieties of food. Most of the time the scale reads 4 or 5 ounces but depending on the density of the food it can absolutely differ!

I feel the same way at times. Seems like I’m losing so slowly but it’s still early for me yet. As for you the numbers look great! Keep it up. I hope I’m down 75 in the amount of time it took you.
-
I can eat 4-6 ounces & im not sure if that’s a good thing or not. It’s different for everyone. I’m 10 weeks out today & I’m losing at a good pace as per my surgical group but it feels like a snails pace to me. I’ve been able to eat that amount from day one. I’m jealous of you not being able to eat that amount. Sometimes I wonder if being able to eat 4-6 ounces every 3 hours or so is a gift or a curse! I wonder if the small amount you consume is due to scar tissue or simply a smaller pouch. My surgeon uses a model Endoscopically to measure the size of the pouch & assured me that all of his patients have the same size pouch with all or nearly all of the elasticity removed. If the amount you are able to eat becomes a concern talk to your surgeon about having a look for scar tissue etc. otherwise the way I see it your blessed with a smaller pouch. Keep me posted.

That’s one of my vices. Hard habit to break. Especially when you stay up late.

So I’ve been told to eat between 1000-1200 calories a day. I aim for around 200 calories per meal. I’m starting to wonder if 1200 measly calories is to much! I’m very curious. HOW MUCH DO YOU ALL EAT? -

I feel your struggle & am right here with you. Night time eating has always been something I’ve done. No breakfast huge dinner. Time to put that to rest!
