    Surgery Cancelled and Giving Up

Karleena, you're close. You're very, very close to getting this done. Last minute hiccups are annoying and discouraging, but you're in the last few yards of a marathon race and deciding to give up because you stumbled. Pick yourself up and move forward with this. Reschedule appointments, call your doc and ask for help with logistics. One thing these docs tend to VERY ANNOYINGLY fail at is leaving the pre-surgery logistics up to the patient. Truth be told, that's the sort of job that some folks will do well, others won't. Just take a deep breath, recalibrate where you stand and figure out how to get things moving again. Ask for help from the surgeon. Just don't give up, because the consequence of that is poor quality of life and premature death that is inevitible with obesity.

    Regretting it

Post-Op regret is usually because you're in the phase where your surgery is all sacrifice with very little gain as you're still heavy. Old bad habits are still wanting to be satisfied, you're on a restricted diet, it's tough. This surgery is not a 1 week or a 1 month thing. It's a lifetime change. If you got it not knowing that, you're probably going to underperform in terms of your weight loss goals. If you can't manage some degree of food intake self control for the first few months while you're healing, you probably need emergency psychiatric intervention as this isn't something you can screw around with and not risk a potential blowout or tear. When you go this done you signed up for a new life. Welcome to it.
