Gastric sleeve and hernia repair
rainyann replied to booprn1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the sleeve, a hernia repair and my gall bladder removed at the same time ... March 13... I have not experienced any incisional pain or difficulty swallowing. However, everyone is different. Your surgeon is most likely correct and it might not be uncommon for what you are experiencing to happen. I am sure it will get better -

Today is the day - surgery!!!
rainyann replied to monica91355's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you wake up on day 1 or 2 and ask yourself "what did I do?", don't worry... many of us felt that way in the first couple of days... give it a chance, you will feel better and realize it was the best thing for you. You will then wonder why you didn't do it before. It gets better! Just stick to the plan and keep on walking! -

Decision between sleeve and bypass??
rainyann replied to SeaQuin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What does the surgeon recommend for you? I was fairly certain I wanted the sleeve and the surgeon said it was the right one for me... Sometimes it depends on the amount of weight you have to lose, perhaps not always -

I am 3 months out and about a week ago I started drinking with a straw and have had no issues. I have my 3 month check up next week and plan on speaking with the surgeon about it and asking if the restriction still applies if I had no issues -
Gallstones after 6 months of VSG - Should I take a second opinion or just get my gallbladder removed?
rainyann replied to up4challenge's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take the gall bladder out... it needs to eventually since you already have gall stones.... however, the other issue also need to be fixed. I wouldn't bother with a second opinion about the gall bladder -

How long from First appt until surgery?
rainyann replied to riemgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine took 5 months but only because I delayed getting all my appointments for testing. There was no specific time frame required by my insurance. Once I did everything she scheduled my surgery date pretty quickly. -
