About Me
I have always had an issue with weight, even as a child, my mother would comment how I was bigger than the other girls. My biological father was blunt - you're fat and need to lose weight. I became very focused on school, yet even there, I was not small enough at 140, to be accepted. I graduated and then got married. After 18 years of marriage, I could no longer ensure my safety with my manic-explosive bipolar spouse. The doctor asked if I had a death wish, so I filed for divorce with my in-laws' blessing. I worked hard to move up the ladder from court clerk, to court administrator, finally to judge, then my health went downhill. I moved from TX back to Indiana to be near my mother and siblings. It took me a few years to gather the courage to go to college and get a degree. I maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my college times. The weight kept creeping higher. It was hard to breathe just walking from one room to another. I decided to see if I qualified for bariatric surgery. I didn't have a snacking issue, mine was drinking coffee during the day and making up for it at dinner. My doctor had diagnosed with with congestive heart failure, diabetes, and degenerative disc disease. I couldn't handle all that on top of my multiple sclerosis, so I became committed to losing weight and becoming healthy. I am lucky in that I have the full support of my future husband (wedding May 20th, 2017) and we plan on having a lifetime together. It can be done, if you have the correct mindset and reasons.
