Made it through surgery today. No pain at all just some soreness but I'm horribly nauseous. Taking zofran and it's not helping much Can anyone tell me how long the nausea lasted for you after surgery and any tips?

I would recommend a dietician instead of a nutritionist. There are no national standards for nutritionists, so anyone can take an online course and call themselves one. Dietician go through a degree program and there are national standards

Just wanted to say Hello and introduce myself. I have surgery scheduled for March 30th. So ready and excited to do this!

Thanks everyone! I'm having the gastric sleeve. I haven't been super nervous but I'm sure a panic attack is coming!

I would highly recommend counseling with someone who specializes in eating disorders. Also working with a Dietician (not a nutritionist) who specializes in eating disorders would be super helpful. I'm not diagnosed with an eating disorder, but I definitely have some disordered thinking towards food. I've been working with both for months prior to scheduling my surgery and I think it's something everyone considering surgery should do. *hugs* you can do this

Hot Cheetos! What did I do?!!

Look at this as an opportunity to learn. Try to look back and figure out why you binged. Where you genuinely hungry from lack of nutritious food (esp.protein) Where you stressed out? sad? angry? Maybe have some good snacks on hand at work so when these kind of things happen you're ready with better choices. Also, don't beat yourself up. This isn't an all or nothing process. Get back on track and keep going!
