2 weeks out - Not feeling restriction
jaminator replied to H123987's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thats not very dense which may explain lack of restriction feeling. -
Ha souther cooking! I am in Texas and there is a place CHicken Express and you can get okra with anything.

That is a lot of food. And fast food can make you feel really terrible. My downfall was eating 5 pieces of fried chicken at once, along with a side like fried pickles or okra.

i also take low fat meats and wrap them with some provolone. Like a ham or roast beef or turckey rollup. one of those keeps me good for a couple hours. -
Feeling very defeated!!!!

once i was able to get a lot of water and liquid in my weight started dropping. I think it helped me to get comfortable with having protein in my stomach too. The first couple months any time i ate dense protein i felt like i would burst. Im five months out and during the week i will see fluctuations of 2-3 pounds either direction during a given week, but its still trending downward month to month. Right now i am dropping about 1 pound every 2 - 3 weeks, so its slow but still progress. And of course now that i am recovered I am eating just about whatever i want, just not a lot of it. It was hard for me to believe that not getting enough calories could cause me to stop losing weight, but now that i am accustomed to how this sleeve works, i eat something small every 3 or 4 hours and that allows me to get the calories in that work for me. -

Think more of the long game rather than focusing on the stall since it hasnt been that long. At 47 days i was still only able to eat a small amount, and nowhere near that many calories. I felt weak and dizzy sometimes and was lucky to get 600 calories in. Once your more healed and eating is easier the weight will come off. I wold focus on the healing and dont worry so much if you dont see pounds falling off right now, your body is probably in shock still. -

you did it because it tastes good and thats what you have done in the past. You are still working on yourself. Once sleeved you probably will have difficulty eating one of those.

Surgery yesterday -- what have I done?

i felt like a swollen up sausage for a couple of weeks. -
use one of those breathRX tongue scrapers every morning. All those shakes leave a gross film on the tongue. I scrape off all this brown stuff every morning.

I stayed overnight so used some IV pain killers the first night. THen some tylenol for a couple days and then went cold turkey. The first 4 days are going to be painful. Just try to rest and remain calm when you arent doing your walks. Lots of sleep will help you. I truly believe i was able to recover faster by using the minimal drugs. I only used the stuff they give you to coat your stomach and the acid suppressor. After about 5 days i had a major improvement. I pretty much drank just water and a little protein drink during that time. I was originally going to use David Kim and do outpatient, but got scared after his legal issues and moved to UT Southwest. But i still went home the next afternoon. I didnt want to stay any longer than i had to. Good luck. Drink water. -
Protein ideas/Protien Shake ideas? So gross!
jaminator replied to Aginn10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good info. On the fairlife milk i found that kroger carb master skim milk provides almost the same protein and its usually 1-2 dollars less and its a full half gallon. -

VEGA has several flavors other than choc or vanilla too. And if you dont want to use the coffee you can use more milk for more protein. -
Bored of liquid diet!

I think the human mind doesnt comprehend why you arent chewing anything. Once you get to something with some texture i think it will improve for you. I know it did for me. When i went to soft food stage i made a bean and chicken stew with rotisserie chicken and it was the greatest thing i ever tasted in my life. -
everything is inflamed. I had to experiment to find the right temperature that didnt cause discomfort. Ice cold worked best for me. The first few days its tough to get the fluid in.
-
might try skim milk and skip the juice. At least you will get protein with the mixer instead of the sugar from juice.
