  4. yea you can drink as much as you want. i don't know about pounding down a bottle of water though. if you drink to much of anything at one shot you're gonna be sorry ! ! it's just gonna sit there and give you tremendous pain !

  6. hey I Went To School In J.c. I Went To P.s. #5 And Graduated From Ferris H.s.

  7. my last fill which was about a month ago was horrible. My doctor couldn't find my port. He poked me about 7 times and kept wiggling the needle in my stomach. It took about 30 minutes to find my port and fill me up. He says your port moves from time to time. but if it moves to a completely different location from where it was placed then theres a problem. As for not losing weight, you're at a stand still right now. Don't get discouraged you'll shed pounds when you least expect it once you get that sweet spot.

    Having some trouble

how long since you've been out of surgery? Is the wound near or on any of the surgery cuts? Does your Port hurt?.. If "NO" to any of these you'll be fine. Just call your Doctor just to be safe. Better sae then sorry.

fills - would really appreciate some advice

Nothing at all will happen. the only thing you can expect is to be on liquids for 24-48 hrs. depending on your doctor. After band fills you can continue your regular life just without any eating of course for a day or so..lol good luck

    Constantly weighing yourself?

thanks... but doesn't really answer my question
  12. Hey whats going on. I'm 6' 2" also and at my heaviest I was 375. Right before surgery I was 356, and am currently weighing in at 290, and im only 21 my heaviest was about 2-3 yrs. ago. I know exactly where you're coming from. I've always been competitive person as well. You keep saying in your mind "well I'm healthy and and comfortable with my weight, as long as I can maneuver around with my weight I'm fine". But to tell you the truth you're not, the more weight you lose the better you feel not only mentally but physically. AS you continue to lose weight you're still gonna have the mentality of a 350+ pound guy in a smaller and quicker body, therefore you're gonna be twice as stronger.

  16. you can eat whatever your body lets you. Everyone's body reacts different to the lap-band. Some peoples' bodies tolerate foods that others don't. experiment with different foods, just don't forget to chew!!!! Stay away from fast foods and fried foods!!! but Its ok by me to eat something "unhealty" once in a blue moon. get use to eating boiled and baked foods
  17. I suggest for all to start highlighting your other problems. For example, high blood pressure, high glucose, back problems, knee problems, etc. Any problems that you have due to being over weight. If you don't have any problems which is unusual for someone who is over weight, Start seeing specialists in different fields. One of them will find something wrong with you. As for this can help getting approved by your insurance.

    July 15th

Being nervous is normal. I never had any surgeries prior to the lap band surgery. So picture the mess I was! As for the liquid diets, it's hard I'm not gonna lie but you'll get threw it, it's not the end of the world. The protein shakes do take a little bit nasty because the doctor tells you to mix them with water(my doctor does. Don't know about the others) to avoid adding on extra weight due to mixing with milk. Over all you'll be fine, it's part of the process and part of your weight loss journey

    dizzy and light headed

jdrocks...you shouldn't have much trouble getting any liquids down. You were just banded, you have no restrictions. Then again every one is different. Maybe you should liquefy your protein drinks more.

drink A Lot Of Fluids, Preferably Water.you Can Also Drink Some Gatorade And Vitamin Water, But Don't Over Do It These Drinks Have A Lot Of Sugar So Limit On How Much You Drink. Also Start Drinking Liquid Vitamins To Get The Energy Back That Your Body Is Using To Recover.
