5 years out, dealing with regain and my iron has skyrocketed!
kylynne posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, I'm currently 5 years out, I had gastric bypass roux en y, and it started out wonderful as far as weight loss goes. I've always been anemic but, over the last few months, I've started regaining weight like crazy and I can't figure out why! Also, a recent blood test is showing that my iron levels are through the roof! I so desperately want to figure this out, and somehow jumpstart my weight loss again, but nothing seems to be working. Someone, please help. I've never felt so hopeless in my life. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Yes it has caused my already severe depression to get worse. I cant figure out what is happening with my body but I know I've got to figure how to jumpstart weight loss again. Any tips on that? My doctor is aware of my iron and weight issues, but hasn't been proactive on helping me with it. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Hello! Im not really sure just how this app works yet but here goes nothing: I'm about 3/.5 years out of gastric bypass surgery and overall, I had lost about 100 pounds, I was finally down to a healthy weight and was happy with my body for the first time ever. However, over the last year/year and a half, I've gained back about 30 pounds and I'm afraid I will continue to gain. I've tried to put myself back on the liquid diet, but have failed multiple times. Does anyone have any advice on ways that I could kick start my weight loss again? Please help! I have no support groups nearby, I'm fighting this battle alone. Kylie

Thank you so much for that, I needed it. It haunts me all the time [emoji17] -
I had the same problem, mine lasted about 6 months before I finally figured out there was a problem and went back in for testing. It turns out I had ulcers within my esophagus and that was why I couldn't keep anything down. If it continues, you should probably have a scope done.
