At what point does "normal" food start going down easily?
Pistolkisstal replied to KatePenny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm two months out and I have my good days and bad. Still very uncomfortable for me to eat but I try. Chicken doesn't go down well at all yet. Neither does deli turkey. Been ok with tuna but sometimes my pouch doesn't like it. It all depends -
I was wondering if anyone else gets this way.

So Im on my two month as of June 3rd out of surgery. I've been eating more solid food but having trouble keeping stuff down here and there. For about two weeks it was bad bad. I was going great but the last couple times I've tried something a little more solid and thrown up I've found I'm a lot more emotional the last two times than I have been for some reason. I threw up dinner and I just got super depressed tonight and cried , all I want to do is just sleep now. Has this happened to anyone before? -

Looking for possible buddy in Arizona PHX
Pistolkisstal replied to staysweet09's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Turkey slice went down fine at week 1 it hurt a little bit but I took really small bites. Tried chicken on Easter just had like two bites and that didn't go down well at all. Tuna really wasn't great for me either. Yesterday for some reason I was really feeling uneasy in the tummy and threw up both my lunch and my dinner. Only thing I find that doesn't hurt going down at all really is the cottage cheese which I've been trying to have at least once a day. Getting tired of the protien drinks though.. bleh. -

3 weeks out and weight gain
Pistolkisstal replied to meaghan_rny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had mine on 4/3 and I'm the same way three weeks out stalled goes from 275 to 274 to 273 and then back up. However I started my period so that might have something to do with it. I feel like I'm getting enough food/ protien, but might not be getting enough water I'm trying though! -

Good idea blondie I'll have to do that with the ice -
I've posted on a couple forums before but haven't fully introduced myself. I'm from Arizona , I'm 32 and have struggled with my weight all my life. Lost some weight with medifast but gained it back and also with Atkins. Decided on the surgery about four months ago and did it Thur the company I work for. One of the best Bariatrics surgeons around. I didnt have to lose any weight per the insurance but the surgeon wanted me to lose a little beforehand. I lost about ten pounds before and last Monday was my surgery. I felt pretty good the first couple days but had little set backs of feeling just gurgley and weird. Also I was told beforehand that I might have had small holes in my diaphragm that would need fixed if they could they would. They couldn't fix it because it would mean an open surgery to get to where they need. I woke up from surgery and when I talked to the doc he said that they actually had to reposition my stomach and lengthen my esophagus because my small intestines weren't exactly long enough. He also told me that there were seven cuts because the one under my left boob they accidentally hit an artery and had to stitch them up and move next to it o it'll be pretty sore there. I'm six days out and can say that son of a bee hurts like hell even still haha. I get to drink until first protien drink today and I'm excited about it. Been trying to walk as much as possible and am trying to work up to drinking four bottles of Water still on three /three and a half.

A rare birth defect involving the diaphram
Pistolkisstal posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I went to my last pre op appointment on Tuesday. The bypass is still scheduled for early Monday morning yay! So my question is has anyone been told they have a large fat deposit by their heart and that they have a possible hole in their diaphram ? Apparently it's a birth defect because I was born premature. Doc said it was pretty rare . Just wondering if anyone has been told this and how the outcome was ect. -
