  1. This is my biggest fear. I have always been real top heavy (even before the weight) and dreaded this would happen to me. I stopped going to amusement parks just because of this.
  2. Oh gosh I can't imagine. The next flight I go on will be post-op. I wasn't as heavy the last time I flew, but I could tell it was getting bad when I was pretty much maxed out on the seat belt I would not be so excited to get on a plane today.

    Water every 15 minutes???

Thank you for the reply. You're absolutely right; staying hydrated is key. I'm sure I'll make it work, I usually do! I'm also pretty sure I'm not the only nursing student to have bariatric surgery. As you said I'm only screwed if I think I am (I like that lol).

    Water every 15 minutes???

I really hope so! Thank you so much for replying I can't imagine anyone sipping all day every day forever.
  5. I think you will be ok. Just don't smoke anymore. Which alone is hard I went cold turkey almost a year ago. Just say no. It gets easier!!!
  6. Depends on insurance and also the office. I know my pulmonary testing has a "shelf life" it needs to be within 30 days of surgery and not sooner or I would have to do it again [emoji53]

    May??

May 26th!! But I haven't finished all my pre appointments yet, so I don't know how they gave me my date without insurance approval lol. But as of now, May 26th is my date

    Any nurses who got sleeved?

So glad I found this! I'm a nursing student and I'm terrified I won't get enough water in (more so with clinicals). If I have to hide a water bottle in my bra I will lol. I really don't know what to expect. I do know I would just die if I pass out in the hospital or something. But I have the summer to heal so I'm hoping for the best. Getting sleeved next month!
  9. HA. A chair. I didn't break the chair or anything but that chair broke me. Last semester I was going to taking a sociology class. Some of our classrooms are on the older side and in this building, some of the rooms had like original furiture. They had the desks attached to the chairs but not the nice ones I remember from my high school years (15 years ago, man I'm old), these were like from the 70s. Looking at this small pathetic little desk I wasn't even sure I would fit! I did fit, but I was very uncomfortable. Looking around, most students had no issue, they had plenty of space at their seat. There was a few people that looked uncomfortable, but I really feel I was suffering the most lol. I don't know how I survived those 2 hours in that room. I ended up withdrawing from the class..... because I didn't fit in the chair. Now before I pick a class I physically check the class room to see what kind of seating arrangement there is. That was really my last straw. I knew it was bad, but not that bad. Especially as a nursing student heading into clinicals in the fall, I need to make this change now.
