I just wanted to let everyone know that my wife and I have started on our clear liquid diets for surgery. At this time were not sure who will go on Wednesday. She has come done with a sinus problem and they might put her off not sure. If that is the case then I will go this Wednesday and she would go the next week. Yes he can be treated. I would suggest you have talk with son's doctor and she who they would suggest your husband to see and be tested. They might be able to do that for you. Just a thought and idea for you. I hope you can get him treated. Chris Pre Band St. Louis 250/

I Have UHC and was approved within 30 days along with my wife. I would check your policy manaual and see what it says. Our plan was changed this year with the same insurance company. I have UHC Choice plus and we were approved within 30 days. I can forward you the letter that I had written for my pcp and my wifes OBGYn and they sent this to the lapband doctor and he submitted and were approved. The biggest problem we had was they said they did not have my wife stuff. So we sent it again, and the third time it was faxed while the doctors office was on the phone and then she was approved within 20 minutes while they waited on the phone. Do you have all the information the insurance will need for approval? Ie: 5 plus years of weights, a list of all your co medical issues, all your meds,letter from your primary doctor to the lapband doctor. Did the doctor say how it took them to get others approved with this insurance. We have UHC and was approved in less than 30 days and my wife is having it done on the 12 of Sept and Iam on the 19th of Sept. Have you talked to the insurance company about what want? Welcome to the group. I take it that you your insurance does not cover wls surgery? Have you check to see if there is going to be any changes in 08 in regards to this. I happen to be reviewing are medical plan and found that it had been changed and so now my wife is having surgery a week from today Sept. 12 and 2 weeks for me. Sept. 19. We are both very excited about this. There are several places in the US that have low prices for the band. One of the things that I here a lot from people is trying to get fills etc. You need to check with doctors in your area and see what they will do. MY wife and I have bought new bikes about ten years ago to help with weight loss. I did ride the kids a lot when they were small. With a week to go for my wife and 2 weeks for me in getting are bands, hope to start riding them in late fall or wait untill spring and then go to town with ridding. There are several places in the US that are about $10,000 or so. There is a place in Cetral Missouri, Colorado. Keep in mind a lot of people are having problems with getting fills from the US Doctors. Make so you have one in place before you have this done in Mexcio. Chris Pre Op St. Louis 250

I just wanted to let you know that my wife and I have been approved for the Lapband surgery. We received word from the doctors office that she has been approved. So we get the letter will set a date. We are looking at being in bandland in September or October. This will depend on the doctors schedule and work schedule. My wife will go one week and then I will go the next week. The doctor has said that we would be good for the new Inmed AP Advance Band. I will keep everyone update as to when will have surgery. My wife and I were just approved and the dates are for 9/12/07 for her and then I go the next week on the 9/19/07 at 1 P.M. So I will take here to the doctor that day and then she will bring me home the next day. We have three kids and with work schedule/travel we felt that this was the best way to do it.
