It's been a rough road with lots of nausea and Protein Drink intolerance and more nausea, so the weight has come off a bit faster than my doctor and nutritionist projected, so your mileage may vary. I was sleeved August 8th. I've lost a lot of hair. Pic below is about two shower's worth. This puts me about 76 lbs down from my highest weight. Hang in there guys, I'm finally having more good days than bad. I don't have many recent pics that aren't just selfies but you can see the difference in those even! I have collarbones again, woo! HW: 275 SW: 264 Current: 199.8 Goal: 130-150??? [/url]

Carbonation after WLS?
lornasaurusleeve replied to ebroms17's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I love LaCroix waters because they're not sweetened. Do they ever go flat? I've had one open in the fridge for three days now waiting for it to go flat and it still explodes inside me when I take an experimental sip! Guess I probably need to move it around more. -
Knowing when full
lornasaurusleeve replied to cakes0329's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't feel the fullness until I started firmer foods. ...You'll know. But your best bet is to get a food scale and measure it out. My paperwork all says I should eat about 2oz at this point but 2 oz has me way too full. I feel better at about 1oz. If I hit the point where I vagal and my nose starts to run then I'm too full lol -
July & August sleevers please drop your weight loss #

Thanks so much!! Good luck and keep trying anything you can to get that nutrition in. Try smaller amounts at a time..It was less daunting that way at least and more physically comfortable too. -
Just cannot eat

I second this, I used a couple saltines to get some lunchmeat down yesterday and it went MUCH better than the lunchmeat alone. -

I'm down about 30 lbs from August 8th. Probably a little too fast for my height but I've had trouble with constant stomach upset and getting enough protein. (Can't take protein shakes. They advanced me onto soft meats early. Also had to stop most dairy.) I wanted to die those first two weeks, like, literally. The physiological starvation and rapid weight loss started making me batshit crazy. The three week stall is real!! I can only tolerate 1-2 ounces at a time. I actually added a little bit of carbs at the end of the three week stall with my very small meals and it helped with the stomach upset and got my weight moving downward again. IDK why but only one food group at a time has always bothered my stomach and I kind of forgot about that from my dieting days of old before all this (I have always had a lot of food-tolerance issues both mental and physical. Eating disorder brain and genuine physical sensitivities combined.) The stomach upset also makes it hard to get enough fluid and the vitamins all went to hell. It's been a vicious cycle of nausea causing stuff lol. I just started the vitamin patches after reading so many good reviews, so hopefully those help too. I haven't started a regular exercise regime yet because I've been so weak, but plans are in the works. Oh, and I'm back to work -- in smaller scrubs. [emoji4] Most days are getting slightly better each day. I still have a lot of "What have I done?" regret moments, but little by little that's improving too. Attached: a few weeks preop, Hospital pic, a couple days after they let me eat some meat lol, then the obligatory smaller scrub selfies were yesterday. I'll have to get a full body shot when I go back. (Bad underwear shots are being saved for bigger losses lol) -
Is my incision infected?
lornasaurusleeve replied to Kristen117's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol Berry mine on my big incision is bugging me so bad that I dreamt the night before last that I dug it out and it pulled the whole (dramatically long and stick straight lol) stitch line out and I bled EVERYWHERE and was running around the dream trying to hold myself shut. [emoji23][emoji23] -
Is my incision infected?
lornasaurusleeve replied to Kristen117's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does it feel like you're being stabbed from the inside if you push on the little bump?? If so, I've got two of those demons and they're just the end of the knot on your internal stitches. I'm a nurse and just had one of our pediatricians look at mine the other day and she said they will dissolve over time and once they do the pokey sensation will go away.
