I feel like that’s what’s causing it. Most of my loose skin is in my lower abdomen and inner thighs. What kind of procedure was it? How painful? I’m scared of plastics, I don’t know if I can handle the drains.

I have a somewhat TMI question. I can’t find anything on Google about it so I figured I’d ask if anyone else has had this problem. I’ve had bladder and urinary tract pain for the last six months and I’m wondering if it’s related to the RNY or the loose skin I have from weight loss. I am a year and a half out from surgery so it’s not related to the catheter. I’m thinking it’s a loose skin issue. The majority of my loose skin is in my stomach, lower pelvis area, and upper inner thighs. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am 11 days out from surgery, and I have already stalled out on losing any weight. I am following all of the rules, in fact I’m eating a little less than I should because I find eating to be an annoyance at this point. I’m getting protein and fluids in, I walked outside yesterday for half an hour. I weighed myself this morning and I gained a pound. I am so depressed and frustrated, I really don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. I did not go through all of this to not lose much weight. Has anyone else experienced this?

Today was definitely better than yesterday, and I assume tomorrow will be better than today. The incision pain is th biggest problem I’ve had, I’m doing fine with eating and drinking and have had no nausea. -

Today I’m just very sore at my incision sites. I am envious of anyone who went through this with little to no pain. That hasn’t been my experience. I’m not having any problems with eating or drinking, though. -

Apparently there was a problem with my liver when they did surgery. It was very fatty still and bled more than it should have. They almost had to give me a blood infusion. So scary, I’m glad I didn’t know that until today. I must not be in too bad of shape though bc they sent me home this evening. -

My RNY surgery was yesterday around. 10 am EST. So far I’m doing pretty well. I have had little to no nausea, and I am doing fine keeping liquids down. I had a hard time coming out on anesthesia and my blood pressure dropped pretty low, but everything is back to normal now. My incisions are by far the most painful part, and getting in and out of bed is really not fun. I’ll be more glad I did this in a few weeks when I’m not as exhausted and in pain.

The one thing I'm most grateful I did before surgery!

My surgery is a week from today, and I am going to take your advice and write myself a note, too. Thanks for sharing this! -

Surgery day is quickly approaching. I had my final meeting with my surgeon on Tuesday this week, so now it's a slow march to the actual day of. I find myself getting more and more nervous as it gets closer, which I'm sure is normal. I find myself second-guessing the decision, too. Did anyone else go through that? I know that's probably a silly question. The way I look at it is, if I don't do it, then my weight is going to continue to get higher and the pain I already have in my feet, hips, and back is going to get worse and will more likely become permanent. My aunt is 60 years old, probably around 350 lbs, and she is in constant pain from her weight and has trouble moving around. I am built just like her, so I see my future in her. I am only 34, I am young enough that I will bounce back quickly and some of the joint damage I have done may be reversed. Still, it's a life-changing decision and it's starting to rattle me as it's getting closer. Anyone else feel this?

Glad to hear everything has gone well with your surgery! Mine is in 11 days, I am getting very nervous. Hope you continue to heal and get better easily! -

I was at my pre-op testing session this afternoon and got a call from my surgeon’s office. He is apparently not going to be there the day they scheduled me, so they moved me back a week to November 20. This has really been disappointing and has created all kinds of trouble since my husband can’t get work off that week and my family will be out of town. I just want to be done already, this is so frustrating. Good news is I was physically cleared for surgery, though. Still, now I have one more week at work and to stress about all of this. Sorry, just needed to vent.

Of course I feel like I'm getting a cold...

I have my testing to clear me for surgery tomorrow - blood work, EKG, chest x-ray, etc. OF COURSE, I feel like I may be getting a cold. Will this affect my surgery date? I cannot believe this is happening right now, I'm so frustrated. -

My pre-op testing is tomorrow, too! I have already been approved and my surgery date is set, this is just to clear me health-wise. Good luck! -
What to take to hospital.
LINZ62383 replied to PaulaUSN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for starting this thread. I have been wondering what to take, too. I would never have thought of getting an extended cord for my phone, but that makes total sense. I also wouldn't have thought to bring my robe. -
Hi all: I am three weeks out from surgery, and I was wondering if there are any items or foods that I should get before surgery to be prepared for the post-op process? I wondered specifically if a blender or food processor is recommended. I watched a YouTub video where a woman made shot-sized protein puddings so she would have them on hand when she got home from the hospital. Has anyone meal prepped before surgery? I do have another random question. I am seeing in a lot of the YouTube videos that people are coming home with drain tubes or have drains in the hospital. Is that something I will have? I am nervous about that since I do not do well with blood and guts, even though that is really minor blood and guts. Thanks in advance to anyone who responds!
