Stay away from it there is no nutrition at all and giving into cravings now is setting yourself up for failure. Also beware a lot of the chili powders like Tajin have sugar in them as well, if you have not dumped or gotten sick this would be a good way to cause it. Spicy can be good to help certain cravings for example I wanted buffalo wings something fierce and boiled some chicken minced it and used a little light mayo and sugar free buffalo sauce, was it the same as a fried wing? No but it was close enough you just need to find a suitable substitute. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

You of course have a goal still it's to get to the weight they want you at or to maintain where you are that sometimes can be a chasing game but the challenge is to never go back to how you were before
-
I have 120lbs more to go of which I hope 100 to be gone by the end of the year..... My goal is 240 I started at 473lb... My surgeon even said I will never be the standard 180lbs as it would be too small for my frame. I also haven't lost any muscle mass as I lift and keep up on my protein intake(about 90-100 grams a day)

I had RNY April 19th and have lost 108lbs and while I know I have lost weight I still don't see it. I agree that after being overweight for so long and being so used to seeing myself that way I don't know when my brain will catch up to my loss but it will at some point..... I have one pic pre surgery and will take one at a year out and then another at goal Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

AndrewAZ replied to neeseemcmeesee's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Confirm with your surgeon before doing it as you may not need too mine did not make us do pre op diet.... No need to go thru it if they don't require it Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -
Man I'm freaking out the anxiety is thru the roof, I'm not used to this feeling. Surgery is at 1030am Mountain time and I am questioning if I'm doing the right thing, I feel sick to my stomach with nerves. Anyone else getting done today? Anything else you guys did to rid the nerves?

It sounds like you do need to speak with someone that kind of behavior means you are not ready... The doctor did make a mistake in paperwork but they are not responsible for your weight, but yet you blame them take responsibility. Buckle up drop some lbs by eating the right things whether you get insurance approval or go to Mexico it will only help your recovery and please talk to someome about your eating habits. I say this not to be a jerk but time and time again I see people doing this same exact situation and failing post surgery! Your lively hood I. E. Work and YOU are worth it. Very nice glad to see another person local and with the same surgeon. How did your reintroduction to real food go at a week? I tried a slice of turkey lunch meat and could barely get it down and felt horrible all night -
Thanks I had surgery at 10am on the 19th and went home about 1030am on the 21st
-
I have not I was a bit bloated the first two days but the fluid left my body one way or the other but my stomach has already flattened out quite a bit and my ankles are looking good.... Plus figure you won't be on IV fluids for nearly as long with this surgery as when you had a C section
-
Well 4 days post op I don't need the pain meds today and I was able to get down a 3oz protein shake no problems just slow sips... I hope it continues to get better everyday

Prescott is Beautiful I loved riding motorcycles up there and hope to again in the upcoming year. Congrats on taking the steps to a healthier you and opening a set of tools that you will use for your entire life. I agree there doesn't seem to be a lot of folks in Arizona that are open about bariatrics it would be nice if there was a meetup.com group or something

Becoming obsessed with weight loss
AndrewAZ replied to B.Annie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Make sure that for your supervised weight loss that you have them incorporate the mental health aspect of it as well, because if you go into surgery with a fixation that strong you can over do it! While I don't experience the same difficulties as you are facing getting a mental health plan established before and soon after support groups will really help. I am also 36 and had my share of bad things happen in my life that led me down the weight gain rabbit hole feel free to pm me anytime if need be you're welcome to my cell number! -
Hey I am indeed from AZ I currently live in Gilbert. My surgery was done at Honor Health in Scottsdale, and surgeon was Dr. Swain.

Have any surgery gone wrong?? Any hard complications etc.

It's true my family is in town from Chicago and they were eating my favorite deep dish pizza normally I would been drooling at the mere smell of it, interestingly enough I sat there and watched eat and really could care less I didn't even want a piece -
It actually went really well they fixed a hernia from a previous gallbladder surgery and that's the spot that hurts the most.... I will say they wanted me up and walking the floor every 2 hours and I have been doing every 1 hour. The gas pain really is the worst of it. It's amazing how much I don't want food stuff I normally before was drooling over is just kinda meh feeling. Totally worth it in the end the pain is not bad I had no reason to be so nervous[emoji3]
-
Well all went well they found a hernia they repaired so that incision is quite painful but shockingly the rest isn't bad. It's been about 3 hours since I was brought up to my room and I just got back from my walk around the unit
-
Yea I'm on the 19th as well very glad my surgeon doesn't require the pre liquid diet he said I can have a light breakfast the day before then just clear liquids
