What were you doing post-op?
Apple1 replied to queenj23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Starting on about day 5 I was walking about 2.5 miles per day. However, I was not in any pain and have had a relatively easy recovery. Everyone is different and you should definitely listen to your body. -

This morning my stomach is very gurgly ( is that even a word?) every time I sip. It doesn't hurt or anything it is just weird? -

lol.. Can you tell I am reluctant to fully accept victory? Old habits die hard, and I have trained myself to always look at the carbs and fiber on labels. I am super hopeful that I will eventually be able to include healthy complex carbs without spiking my blood sugar. -

My plan says I can have cream of wheat on week 4, but I think it is high carb. I am going to check because that sounds so yummy. I have to be careful how many carbs I consume because of my type 2 diabetes. -

I did too, but this was so persistent. It was driving me nuts for a couple of hours last night. Every time I sat down it would start up. -

I agree with listening to your body. I think slow and steady wins the race. Try something new and if it doesn't work step back to what does then try it again later on. I am looking forward to creamy soups and cottage cheese next week. -

Hi @camony. How are you doing post op? You are a week ahead of most of us on this thread. -

My plan allows me 2 cups of coffee per day this week and I am counting them as water. It is a fluid and nut said it counts. I think the protein shakes count also. -

It seems better this morning. I am definitely walking, but a little less dista.nce since I got home. Yesterday was raining all day, but I did go to the grocery store, gnc, and cook soup, etc... staying as active as I can. Thanks for the tip on the mashed bananas. I need to find some more coconut water because it is a good source of potassium also. -

It went away every time I got up to walk so I think it was just muscle cramping. I think if it was a blood clot the pain does not go away? I am going to really try for over 50 oz of fluid today. I got to 48oz yesterday which I thought was good. -

Anyone have muscle cramps or spasms? When I stretch out my left foot my muscle lock up and I am getting a charle horse in the side of my ankle lower leg. It is so painful!, this just started tonight and the only way to make it stop is to get up and walk. -
I was just sleeved on May 15th in Mexico. I stayed 2 nights in the hospital and 2 additional nights at a nearby hotel. I did really well and although I think I could have gone home after one night I think having an extra day of IV fluids was helpful. I was walking 2 miles on day 5 post op and I have had no problems getting my fluids in. Honestly, this is major surgery and I just don't think I would have been comfortable going home the same day.

Yes and it doesn't help that I was thrown into menopause last year with my Hysterectomy. I have noticed my feeling are hurt way too easily the past couple of days. No tears yet, but Iwouldnt be surprised. My grandson always makes a point to ask me if I am crying yet whenever we are watching a sad movie. -

Me either. I thought I was doing good at 20g. I will probably try to drink at least a little more of a protein shake before bed so I might make it to 30g. -
I guess I am on the website, but I am using my iPad. Intried several times and I can't see any way to edit my surgery info. My weight info needs to be updated also.

I couldn't find the Cocotein, but I found some other flavors. I am impressed by the 40g of protein. I can sip on this all day long. I am going to try it tomorrow. -

I do understand what you mean, I think. When I try to drink plain cold water I can feel it going all the way down to my stomach and then it hits it hard. I hate that feeling. Room temp water does not do that to me only cold. I am taking Bariactric Fusion chewable berry flavored 2x and biotin melts 1x. My calcium levels are really good so I am not taking any extra until after my first blood work at 3 months out and then only if I need it. I like the fusion chewable it was pretty easy to take. -

Oh yea I love me some homemade dumplings 😊. For me the best broth for soup is made by cooking the chicken pieces with the bone in, in the pot. My dh is eating seconds as I type. I am still letting mine cool down a little. -

I bought an inexpensive digital scale from Walmart. For your water, are you drinking flavored or just plain? For me the flavored water at room temp is working best. Glad you are doing well. -

Thank you. That is my granddaughter Malaya. I was trying to figure how to change my profile to post op, and I decided I should add something. She is way cuter than me.🙃 -

So I decided to make a big pot of homemade chicken soup tonight so I would have some good broth to eat for dinner. I am not sure how to figure out the nutritional information to log it, but I guess it should be pretty high in protein. Here is a photo of my husbands bowl and my cup of broth.
