  1. THank you. I would look for low sugar juices and freeze them or even yogurt. That could work! I have always avoided frozen bananas because they have a lot of natural sugar, but if you aren't diabetic they can be blended and make a nice creamy ice cream lol
  2. I am 12 days post op. I think you are doing fairly well. I have just hit my protein and fluid goals this week, I think 10 days post op. It takes some time and healing to work your way up to the amounts on your plan. Just keep sipping and you will get there.
  3. I am missing my veggies now...lol
  4. Yes. I love it! I use it to make zucchini noodles, and all sorts of other veggie noodles. I got mine at Walmart very inexpensive and I use it a lot.
  5. I am more tempted by the smell of barbecues..lol.. someone was cookin something that smelled heavenly this afternoon... I can understand the head hunger. Just stay strong. Someday we can have a taste of those things and be alright.
  6. lol... Check it out... ignore my dirty cabinets
  7. I like it and your hubby looks pretty dang good too....lol.. you are giving me ideas for my kitchen. By the way our counters are almost the same colors
  8. Walking was really the best way to get the gas out. I didn't like the isopure protein drinks either,. What saved me was really good savory broth from homemade soups.
  9. I am using Bariactric Fusion, the berry flavor and they are ok.
  10. I didn't cook either tonight except a scrambled egg with cheese for me. I could only eat a smidge over half and I was full. My hubby ate leftovers of the ricotta bake I made for him last night. We are still waiting for the back splash photos 😉
  11. I have been taking the berry flavor chewable made by Bariactric Fusion. They are. Ok. I mean it is still a vitamin, but it doesn't make nauseous so maybe try something else?
  12. Yes we do. Looking forward to see your new backsplash!
  13. I was on clear liquids for the first week. It wasn't too bad as I didn't really experience any true hunger until about 7 days post op. Savory homemade broths are what kept me satisfied the most.
  14. My parents divorced when i was in 3rd grade... enough said.. I have been through it all. You are a good woman @Newme17 and I still haven't had a decent BM here. Ready to move on to the heavy hitters today.
  15. Thank you for posting your guidelines @Newme17. I agree with you in that there is no one diet that is correct for all of us. We all have different medical issues, cultural differences, religious beliefs..ect. I was following a low carb diet before my surgery because I was trying to control my type 2 diabetes without insulin. It was working and I was able to reduce my A1c from over 11% down to 6.2. The problem is I don't know if that diet is sustainable long term for me, or if in the grand scheme of things it would be healthy long term. My cholesterol is high as is my triglycerides. I am just trying to figure out a plan moving forward and at this point I would like to believe healthy means balanced.
  16. Does anyone else get confused with all of the conflicting advice to be found on theses forums and the internet in general? Heck even our surgeons can't agree on the best pre-op/post-op plans. I am just not sure if I should worry about calories or not, whether I should be trying to exercise more then walking, whether 65g of protein is enough or I should shoot for closer to 100g, and carb amounts, and the list goes on... I try and do my own research, but there are so many conflicting theories even in the literature. I give up😩🙄 I am gonna go walk off my frustrations.
  17. I am truly sorry and I didn't mean for my post to sound rude or insensitive. I know for me sugar raises my blood sugar and can also create cravings for more. I was thinking maybe divert your thinking to which healthy foods you could eat in place of a popsicle. I don't usually like sugar free foods either so I just don't eat them at all. I could have phrased that much better.
  18. My dh and I are going to go to Sears and Dicks Sporting Goods tomorrow and try out a few. Thank you for those names. I have googled and there are so many brands it gets confusing which one does what. All the air in my shake was not good. I will be more careful next time when I am blending.
  19. Yea, salad seems a ways off for me too. I am going to try some baked salmon on Monday as I am allowed puréed meats next week.

    You look great!!
  21. I love that your daughters are supporting you in this journey!! This is awesome.
  22. I like the suggestion of taking a container with you and dividing the food right away. Portion control was a problem for me in the past so I need to be prepared for this also. Restaurants portion sizes are so out of control I feel like even people who haven't had WLS should be doing this.
