  1. That is weird for sure. I have never reacted this way before. I am not sure why?

    Not losing consistently

Mine are normal now too, but I am sticking with the low carb. I see no good reason to add them back. I still eat my veggies.

    Not losing consistently

This is the first time I have ever heard that a low carb diet is bad for a diabetic. In fact the only way I could get my bs down before surgery was to eat less then 30g of carbs a day. My diabetes educator told me to eat 40g of carbs per meal. That was a joke. I would have been on insulin if I would have followed her advice. You are right though all doctors are different in what they tell their patients.
  4. I think I just had my first dumping episode. I was drinking a protein shake on my way home from work and all of a sudden my stomach started cramping up big time, my mouth got all watery like I was gonna get sick. I was going to stop at the grocery store, but I mixed that Idea and just headed straight home. I thought I might have to pull over but I made it home. The weird thing is I have been drinking these shakes since week 2 with no problem. Now I am going to be afraid to drink them again.

    Not losing consistently

I am not sure what the reasoning is for the 40-50 carb grams daily. I bet if you dropped that to 25-30 you might break the stall. I am not a doctor so don't take my advice if there is a compelling medical reason to eat that many carbs. I am diabetic and I eat on average 15-20 carbs daily. I feel great!
  6. That is how I would cook them also. I know he is gonna want this over rice though. I haven't made him rice since my surgery, I guess a little won't hurt him. He is trying to follow my diet, at least at home. I am sure he misses black bean and rice.
  7. I was sleeved on May 15. My recovery has been very similar to yours. I am eating 800 calories a day with no problem most days. I have had zero issues with new foods. I haven't tried raw veggies yet. I am going to wait another couple of weeks. I lost 18.5 pounds my first month post-op, and 22 pounds on my own before surgery. You have asked a great question and I look forward to hearing every ones advice. I am curious on the macro percentages that work well for fat loss. I am currently averaging 30% protein 60% fat and 10% carbs.
  8. That looks really good. My dh loves lentils. I might put this on the menu for this weekend😄

    SAIL INTO SUMMER CHALLENGE

    6/23 187 I will take that!
  10. That is my goal. To consistently get at least 7 hours a night instead of the 5-6 which is my norm. I have always functioned fine on 6, but I want to see if this makes a difference since I keep reading about how important sleep is.

  12. I wanted to share a new habit I am trying to form. I have always been a night owl and most nights only getting 6 hours of sleep. This is not healthy and I knew it, but I didn't realize how much it could also effect weight loss. http://www.webmd.com/diet/obesity/features/cant-shed-those-pounds#1 This is just one article, but there are many. I have started going to bed between 10-10:30 every weeknight. At first I was waking up at 3:30-4:00am ..lol.. but I have made myself stay in bed until 6:00 and the past two mornings I have slept straight through until my alarm went off. It has been years since I have slept 7-8 hours on a regular basis. I hope to see a difference and I hope to stick with this. If I am even 80% successful I will be happy.
  13. Yummy 😋 that looks so good. I took photos of my dinner too. My chicken breast stuck to the pan because I just used the Parmesan cheese without the bread crumbs for mine. It was good anyway. My hubby's has panko bread crumbs mixed in and turned out better. Riced cauliflower and broccoli on the side.
  14. I have started doing my workouts as soon as I get home then take my shower. If I wait till after dinner, I feel lazy..lol.. it is easier for me to do this because I don't have hungry little ones waiting for dinner.
  15. Yes. I made myself do it ..lol.. once I got started it was fine, I was just so tired today, but I don't want to start giving in to any excuses.
  16. I would be very careful about getting pregnant so yes you should use some form of birth control. Condoms work if you don't like the idea of using the pill. You could also get fitted for an IUD.
  17. My parents were the same way. My mom never had any savings. I know she was a single parent and money was right, but even when she had a windfall for any reason she would blow through it and never have any when an emergency came up. My dh and I took care of her the last 12 years of her life because there was no way her little SS check was enough. I think this is a great path you are on @Newme17.
  18. I had a work out at work today in this heat..arg. I had to cut down a ton of maple sticks to feed the beetles and my arms are sore from reaching up with the loppers. I just got home and I can't decide if I should get on the elliptical or just go get a shower and start dinner? I like what is on your menu for dinner tonight. Can i come ? ..lol I took some chicken breasts out so I think I will make them Parmesan crusted with a lemon butter sauce on the side. No bread crumbs on mine. I think I will make broccoli to go with it. Have fun dancing tonight. I guess I am gonna go ahead and get my workout in before I talk myself out of it.
  19. It is very freeing to pay off debt. We paid off everything except for our mortgage and my student loan 5 years ago. We save up for almost all of our major purchases. We did have to take out a 7 year loan for our new roof. We have emergency funds but not the $12000 it cost us. We plan on paying it off within 5 years if everything goes right. When you pay everyone off your credit score goes very high. That is one of the reasons I still have a few credit cards. You get the best rewards when you have a 800 or more credit score 😄. It is safer to pay for things with a credit card also. I never use my debt card anymore because to many hackers out there and I don't want them getting access to our checking account. Good for you on making this year the year for change😊.

    Introducing myself

50 lbs down... I'm in Onederland!

You look beautiful!! Congrats on your weight loss.
  24. My nut told me anything liquid the first two weeks counts. You need 64oz of fluids a day, but they don't all have to be from water, even your protein shakes count.
