hello there, i have worked with insurance for years but not health net. you or your insurance company should have a list of providers that they can refer you to, if you do not know of any doctors that is participating with your insurance. call your insurance company again, if you do not have a provider handbook, and ask them who is on their provider list. if they do not know, i don't know who is supposed to know.....someone at the insurance company should be able to help you. sometimes, the doctors are not listed as bariatric surgeons, just surgoens, so you may have to do some calling around yourself if you don't know anyone with your same insurance that may know of a doctor who does the lap band procedure. good luck to you. chclvr banded 2/28/2008 lost 15 pounds so far:thumbup:

hi ramona first of all my son and daughter in law live in denver and i just love it out there.....i live in tenn. i was banded feb 28, 2008 and have been very much pleased with the surgery. so far i have lost 15 pounds in a month and i go april 1st for my first fill. the surgery itself will not "deal with this" as you said. it is merely a tool to help you lose weight. you still have to work at it and do exactly what the doctors and nutritionists say to do and exercise is a very big part of it. but don't be discouraged yet....it's still worth it to have the surgery. learning how to eat and what to eat and what food combinations to eat is one of the first things i learned before surgery and it does make a difference. and chew, chew, chew your food well before you swallow. giving up soda is one of the things you have to do so get used to living without them, at least for a while. also, if you are on caffeine, you'll have a headache for a few days, but you'll get over it. i haven't had soda in about 4 years myself and have not missed it at all. i hope your doctor and your insurance approves your surgery....it will be well worth it. good luck to you and keep hanging in there. chclvr ps i have been to boulder and have some good friends that live there and i have seen some fat people there.......although most people are trimmer than they are in most cities.

i was banded 2-28-08 and will have my first fill 4-1-08. my surgeon's office said they are not concerned with weight loss the first month. this is kind of a learning experience, like learning how to eat, how much to eat, etc. now that i have said that, i have been starving for the last 3 days! when i get hungry, i eat, but i eat healthy food and i think that is the difference....i'm no longer head to the junk foods for a snack. hang in there....it will get better. chclvr:thumbup:

hey there, i did live in north georgia, cartersville to be exact. i was seeing dr ryland scott at harbin clinic and he was very nice and so was his staff. i had to have a phscy eval., a letter from my pcp and a history of my weight loss efforts, plus i went to nutrition class which was great and helped me greatly, then you had to join a gym before you had surgery. however, i moved to chatta., tenn and decided since i was living in chatta now to go with dr jamie Ponce and he and his staff are just great. i had the surgery 2-28-08 and have lost 15 pounds so far. good luck with your surgery, whomever you decide to go with. chclvr
