    Released with Catheter

    Thank you!
  2. Hello! I'm three days post sleeve surgery. I was just released last night, with a Foley Catheter which has to stay in for a week. I was having difficulty emptying my bladder after surgery. I'm terrified that this won't resolve after a week, and it's making my anxiety sky rocket. Not to mention it's extremely uncomfortable. Any over have similar issue/ advice? I'm really scared. 😢

    Impatient

I'm feeling impatient as well with the process. My first appointment was in January, and the delays with all the different moving parts have me not even half done with the pre-op requirements. 🙁 on the plus side, more time to get some weight off I guess. No sleep study?

Be glad! I have zero symptoms and they made me do a home study with sh!tty equipment, and are telling me I have it based on the least scientific process I've ever seen. I have a rant posted here somewhere. Lol
  5. I haven't received anything from insurance yet. To be honest, I feel like a cpap or bipap will be a giant waste of money, if they're going to make me get it. I have no symptoms, wake up refreshed and no daytime drowsiness. Just makes no sense to me. I wasn't even provided my results, just a "yes, you have it".
  6. Mine wasn't even in a sleep lab, it was home testing equipment, and it was sh!tty equipment at that!! Super annoyed that they use such an unreliable method to make that kind of diagnosis when I don't have any symptoms.
  7. I'm currently annoyed with the process due to my sleep study results. I was given a home sleep study machine, which was about the least scientific testing device I've ever seen. I used it for two nights, quite unsuccessfully. I'm claustrophobic, and kept ripping the cannulas out of my nose, and got very little sleep because of it. And they're using those results to make me get a cpap machine, which I 100% know I won't be able to use. Not to mention I'm $1000 bucks from my deductible so I'm sure I'll pay full price for it to sit in my bedroom. This has me so frustrated, I'm about ready to throw in the towel and live the rest of my life miserable. My dad had sleep apnea, I've seen it in person, and I know I don't suffer from it. Plus, I'm a stomach sleeper, and have read many stomach sleepers have zero luck with cpap devices. Sorry, rant over.
  8. I've started using the pre-made Premier Protein shakes to prepare for after surgery, and have unfortunately discovered that they make me nauseous (after buying like fifty bucks worth) [emoji19] Anyone else find this? Any recommended alternatives/favorites?
  9. I'm very worried about this, also. I have told my boss, as before he was my boss, he was a friend, and I knew he'd be understanding, but he does seem to be a little annoyed with how much I've missed already for pre-op appointments. I've never had any surgery before, so I have NO idea how this works, with HR and whatnot. My boss told me to reach out to them closer to when I have a surgery date, but I don't know exactly how long to put in for. My surgeon said it's safe to ask for a month, then can always come back earlier if I'm up to it. I work from home, at a desk all day.
