April Sleevers Post Op
aquarious12585 replied to aquarious12585's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm only 4 days post op. I really only had the gas pain the first 2 days. But every time I feel like I'm going to pass gas I go straight to the bathroom. Have you tried the gas x chewable? Those helped me quite a bit the first 2 days. -

April Sleevers Post Op
aquarious12585 replied to aquarious12585's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was so nervous up to the last second! I don't even remember the anesthesiologist giving me the meds. I just woke up and the nurse said "you are done and did great in surgery." It was so quick! I just changed my bandages myself for the first time and my wounds look great. Hang in there, you will do great! -

I'm 2 days post op and able to drink pretty normally. Trying to not over do it but so thankful I don't have the pain as others have reported when swallowing

I'm day 2 post op and actually feeling pretty good I had my surgery on the 8th with Dr Lopez at ALO Bariatric in Tijuana. This place was amazing! I feel like I received more nurturing care than I would have in a busy hospital in the states. I'm sore but the gas pain have not been as bad as a expected. I couldn't find the gas x strips so just got the chewables. I'm already learning the signs from my stomach if I take to large of a sip. Very thankful I'm able to drink and dip broth with no issues. I've read that many were not able to drink normal for awhile. My big take away so far from this experience is no one is the same. You can easily get freaked out by reading other's experiences. No way to tell what yours will be until you have the surgery. Hope the rest of the April Sleevers and everyone else are going great! Last night here in Tijuana. I can't wait to be home tomorrow:)

I was sleeved yesterday at ALO in Tijuana. When I got to the hotel Friday not I seriously thought about getting an uber back to San Diego. But in glad I stayed. My procedure went great. So far the pain has been tolerable. I haven't had all the gas pain yet. Main thing is...im so hungry! Just did the leak test so should be getting broth soon. I've never been so excited for broth in my life lol. All the staff here has been so amazing and kind You will do great! -

April sleevers!?
aquarious12585 replied to Simplyrosie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today is the day. Arrived in Mexico yesterday and noe getting ready to head over to ALO Bariatric. It still hasn't fully hit me yet. I decided to travel alone which is now starting to make me a little nervous in case something happens. Last night I made the mistake of reading some people's horror stories. Advice to all of you April sleevers...do not do that the night before! I started having regret about this decision. Questioned my choice. Started thinking about all the "fun" things i will not be able to do anymore. Like go to happy hour a drink 3 or 4 beers, enjoy a drink with food, eat till im stuffed. Wait...are those really fun things?! Then I remembered all of those failed diet attempts! I started thinking about new fun things that I've wanted to do but held back by my weight. Like kayaking, hiking the harder trails, going to social events, and so so much more! So there it is...thats why I'm here. I'm going to get my life back! I'm going to be the best me that I can be! Best of luck to the rear of you! I can't wait to see all of your results. We need to create an April Sleevers tab in the post op forum:) -

aquarious12585 replied to aquarious12585's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you both for the support! I took your advice and have started crossing off the days as I go! 9 days left until surgery. I can do this! -

I'm reading so many mixed things on this site about the pre op diet. I'm having surgery in Mexico and they told me lean meat and veggies is fine. The 5 days before surgery switch to clear liquids. Main thing is to get enough protein daily. I'm really confused though and just want to do it all right :/. I'm getting sleeved April 8.

Mexico in April
aquarious12585 replied to mrsdaniel2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you started your preop diet? I've been on for a week now. Much harder than I thought. Not the food so much but giving up coffee has been a struggle. Also I would love a glass of wine! -
Mexico in April
aquarious12585 replied to mrsdaniel2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm having surgery at AOL bariatrics in Tijuana on April 8! I fly in on the 7th and leave the 11th -
Well I'm finally scheduled for April 8th in tijuana Mexico at Alo with Dr. Lopez. I am so nervous it's not even funny. Never in my life would I have thought I'd be going to Mexico for surgery! After a battle with my insurance company I figured this was my best option. I can't put my health off any more. Started my pre op diet today and my co workers all want to go out for Italian food! I don't think I'm ready to watch them enjoy their lunch while I eat a salad. So I've decided to stay back and stick to eating the healthy choice soup that I brought. Already feeling the struggle and it's only day 1!

I decided on Alo clinic. I'm scheduled for April 8th! Hope my passport comes soon enough! I'm likely traveling alone. I've heard from so many people that they did fine traveling solo. My flight will only be a couple hours thankfully.
