    Need your strength today.

I love you, DonnaB! You sound sooo much like me! You can do this!! Good job getting out of the house! And walking instead of driving (so you don't end up at a restaurant). Keep fighting it!! If you're craving salt... maybe try some meat with soy sauce on it or something? Or a few baked chips? I know it's not the best choice... but it might help, and it's better then LJS! (( Hugs!! )) 7 days... just hang in there 7 days!! You can do it!
  2. I just spoke to the Isopure folks. I can get setup as a vendor! I just had to prove I have a business, heh. The minimum order is 6 cases. I didn't ask him about the powder, but I'm sure I could get it, if anyone wants it. Mikey & I use 2 cases of the RTD Zero Carb a month, so if anyone orders 4 more I can place an order. Oh, it's $30 per case (12 bottles), so 2.50 per bottle. It's $3+ at Vitamin Shoppe, so it is a savings. Not as much of one as I'd hoped for... *sigh*. But better then nothing! And at least I should be able to get all the flavors! I don't think I mentioned that I'll have to charge sales tax inside Texas. I wasn't thinking about it, but the Nature's Best rep hammered his point home, lol. Ugh. (Edit: There's no sales tax on nutritional supplements in the state of Texas, so I'm not sure what the rep was smoking! But I won't be charging sales tax.) Anyway, send me a PM if you'd like to order.

Can someone help me with the process?

I wouldn't let it go longer then a week, heh. But then again, I'm impatient!

    February 2006 bandsters unite!!

I take Spring Valley from Walmart (they're the generic form of Viactiv). I LOVE the caramel ones... delicious! They're sugary & chewable, so I'm sure they dissolve. I do count the calories, heh, like 20 per day, I think.

    LOL, priceless!

Can someone help me with the process?

I don't think it's rude to call & ask for another appointment. You could even say, "I don't know what the next step was, but I didn't want to fall through the cracks. What should I be doing now? What's my next step or appointment?" Our doctor never lets us leave without another appointment scheduled -- good marketing skills! Good luck!

    Do Not Feed The TROLLS

Wow. Very nice article... I read the flame war one too. I think we've had a couple trolls here... they didn't stay too long, thank goodness! Others are hybrids, lol. (I'm so bad!)

I love Propel! I try to not drink it TOO much, lol, but it's awesome! I love my calcium chew too, lol, I'm not giving it up! Wonder if you can OD on calcium, rofl. I'll work something up for the challenge... we've still got a few days before the 1st, we'll have it start then. Be thinking of things you want to add!
  10. Not in any way related to an RN, heh, but our surgeon told us we could take the bandaids off & leave them off after 24 hours. The steri-strips we were to leave on until they fell off (took about a week). Mikey still had one on when we went for our 7 day check-up, lol. The surgeon pulled it off for him.

Eat or Drink on Fill Day?

I always try to eat before I go for my fill... since I'll be doing liquids afterwards. My doctor doesn't have any rules, but that's what I do.

    PCOS Treatment Options Help?

I have a question about treatment too... do you HAVE to treat it? I mean, if you're not trying to get pregnant at the moment & you're one that has periods regularly, is it something that really needs to be treated?

wanting to drinks lots in summer heat.

I'm at 1.6cc/4cc band. I can still chug water when I'm not full. I've had it back up a little if it's really cold, but I normally do room temp, so no worries.

    Protein Bars

We were doing all protein drinks for breakfast. Our nutritionist asked us to switch to Snicker's Marathon meal replacement bars. She said they were the best she'd found calorie for protein gram. We buy 'em at Walmart by the box. I highly recommend the caramel nut rush (20g protein). The other one (26g) is too dry.

    Almost 6 months out...

Congrats Gurly!! You look awesome!! And the smile, woohooo!!
  18. I'm changing my vote to the 6th for Straw, heh. So that makes the 20th & the 6th tied. Though the 6th is NEXT WEEK! Augh! That's quick!

    February 2006 bandsters unite!!

I appear to be in a posting mood this morning. I was reading the "Gone for Good" thread. They're having a challenge... would anyone be interested in a Feb Bandster challenge? Say for the month of May? I was thinking a modified GfG challenge... you earn points for stuff you can control. Something like... 1 point / day for taking your multi-vitamin 1 point / day for taking your calcium 1 point / day for food journaling 1 point / day for hitting your food goals (g of Protein, no carbs, etc, your personal goals) 1 point / 8 oz of Water drunk 1 point / min of exercise What else can we award points for? We could have "earned" points that we award as a group. Something like 10 points weekly for most supportive, 10 points weekly for most positive, 10 points weekly for most improved, 10 points weekly for most inspirational? Would you want points for weight loss too? And/or inches? And changes in BMI? I'm not as fired up about those points, because I can't choose to lose weight... but I can choose to drink some more water. I like getting gold stars! Would there need to be a reward? A pic to put in your sig? Something bigger? The reward of knowing you won? What do you think? Anyone interested? I'll write up something "official" if we're going for it.

    Scar Stages Share yours!

Tellymelly, you're gorgeous!! That hair & your eyes, wow! (Mikey, you're not allowed to look at her pics! Heh.)
  21. Was a blast, though I hate long tables & noise! I want to be able to hear everyone!! People are not allowed to have conversations without me! Thank for taking the pics, Randy! Can't wait for next time!
  22. Wow, Chunk! 20 pounds to go!! That's awesome!

    My dates coming!!! Yikes!

Heh, I had mood swings & panic attacks galore during the pre-op diet. And post-op I had buyer's remorse in a big way... but at 10 weeks out now, I'm thrilled & would do it again in a heatbeat. Ok, yeah, I'm still angry about the modifications to my diet, but I'm working through it and REALLY want to be happy to be eating less. I have some control issues, lol. For the liquid period, variety helps... and always have something ready to drink quickly. And then focus on getting through it... it's something that just has to be endured. You DO make it to the other side, though, and it's worth it!! Congrats on your date!!

    Looking for pre mixed protein

Roberta, I think you mean Isopure Zero Carb (by Nature's Best). Vitamin Shoppe or GNC carry them (my GNC doesn't, pft!). You can also get them online at www.bariatriceating.com, but shipping is prohibitive. They are clear, so I used them extensively post-op. They taste, um, like kool-aid with that awful Protein aftertaste, but you get used to it. My favorites are the Blue Raspberry, Icy Orange & pineapple Orange banana. They're about $3 a bottle, 20 oz, 40g protein, 160 calories (nothing but protein).

    February 2006 bandsters unite!!

For those that don't read many threads, I really found this one interesting. It's in the "Living without the band" forum, though banded folks chimed in too. I really like the idea of pushing through the weight loss phase & then settling in for maintenance. That whole idea of, "it's easier to maintain then change". http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=17126 Let's get the losing part over with & get on with living!
