LOL Yoda, you're adorable! The longer you go without, um, going, the harder it will be -- literally! You might consider a Ducolax suppository (that's what our surgeon gave us). There was a thread on here... I'll see if I can find it, lol. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=8033 -- gross, but absolutely hysterical thread!

Possible solution for PB's and restriction pain
JanetC replied to Jersey Jesse's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Watch for 1 to 2 pounds per week... average. So you'll have to take those fast weeks immediately post-op & average them in (hate that!). When the AVERAGE falls below 1 pounds a week, talk to your doc about that there fill! Wow, 61 pounds gone? Wasn't it just 60? :Banane33: Keep it up! -
Oh my goodness, LSasha!! GREAT job on the exercise! And it's working for you! Congrats! Keep it up & drag us privates with you! :Banane33:

Oh my goodness, Stacey! I'd be sure I was dying!! Black tongue = the plague or something, doesn't it? LOL. I'm glad it's just pepto! Have you heard back on your results from Monday, Stac? It's been 48 hours already!! Heh. How's your fill going, Cashley? You figuring it out? Or have you gone all liquids? You going to get a slight unfill? Tammy!! What's up hon? I'm praying for you!! Hang in there & know that no matter what, we've got your back! Love ya! (( Hugs!! )) Mikey & I are being challenged right now as well, **sigh**. Stupid colds! We keep each other awake with our coughing & nighttime meds seem to make us hyper instead of sleepy, augh!!! This is the 3rd day that I've had like 3-4 hours of sleep. I'm starting to take naps out of desperation... which of course makes for more issues at night. So I'm spacey & depressed & silly, lol. If I say something mean today, lol, forgive me... I honestly didn't mean it! :Banane33: And probably won't remember saying it, heh. Ooooo, it's like a license to scream! Yippee!! :woot:

Congrats & welcome to the journey!! Be good to yourself this week!

Wow, Plunder! My fingers are crossed for you!! Go, Paula!! Better to know! And I'm sure you're fine... and you can stop worrying. (And in a year I expect you to push me out the door! :Banane33:)

Heh, I'm with you, Paula!! What's up with the Ryan & Paula? Give us the scoop! I figure Chris & Elliott are safe -- backlash from being in the bottom 3 last week. My guess for bottom 3 are Taylor, Paris & Katharine, with Katharine going home. I thought Kat did AWESOME!! (Of course, I've got McPheever badly, lol, so forgive me!) Paula came right out said she was flat, which she SO wasn't! I wonder if she blushes when she watches the show later? After the judges got done, I looked at Mikey & said, "Were they awake? Did they see the same performance I did?" I mean, she changed the song up, her voice never faltered. She didn't sound like she was over-shouting, just really, really big. And the song's too big for her? What on earth were they smoking? I was totally expecting praise... their lack of excitement was painful. I'm proud of her for not crying! I'm with Minime... I think it's headgames on the judges part. Which have little to no effect on the voting -- at least for me. I mean, I knew who I liked going in. Even if they performed poorly I was still going to vote for them. They'd have to REALLY screw up for me to drop 'em. Of course, I do believe there are folks out there that vote for the one the judges like. I've gotta think that's not that many votes though... you don't hit redial unless you care!

omg, Kel! I thought you looked great immediately post-op (well, except for the expression, lol). But now, wow!! And he says there's STILL swelling! I hope you don't de-swell away! Seriously, that's awesome! Your scars look amazing! Can't believe how much they've faded! For that matter, can't believe it's been 6 weeks! Congrats & (( hugs!! ))

Hey Jen! I'm a "The Firm" advocate too! They are downright amazing!

http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm ... This site has a list of questions to ask yourself before you get a fill. It sounds to me like perhaps a fill is in order for you! Of course, 10 pounds a month is great no matter how you look at it! A fill may not take care of the plateau, but it might just help! :Banane33: Good luck, Betje!

Awesome NSVs! I love these posts!

Just a thought... but are you going to the bathroom? If not, you need to be! Not going post-op can really mess with your GI tract. As for "normal", everyone's experience is different... so I think you're fine. You got some great advice here. Be kind to yourself & when in doubt, call your surgeon's office. That's what they're there for!

I'm guessing Kat will go. The judges picked her apart! What was up with them running out of time? Gimme a break! The first 3 (I think) got personal interviews before singing... the last 3 didn't. What a crock! I didn't hate all the songs (I expected to). I'm ready for them to stop forcing the kids to sing a certain type of song. I prefer decades, so there's all types available. It was good to see the kids get picked apart in practice... I think they were better for it. It was nice to hear a current producer's point of view. Can't wait until tonight! I've already got butterflies, worrying about who's leaving.

Wow. That's super duper scary. I think I'll go back to sticking my head in the sand. :Banane33: Keep us up to date with your progress, Kim! (( Hugs!! ))

Oh my goodness, I would so have left screaming! :Banane33: Congrats on not punching him!

1. The sipping isn't that big of a deal. It's just us trying to get folks to slow down. If you gulp & get extra air, you'll have more gas & post-op gas pains just don't need any extra help! 2. Most people do gain a little when they go back on food. My advice is just to take the hit. Seriously. You don't want your body to go into starvation mode... that will hinder the weight loss even more. So take the hit now, expect it... forgive yourself before it happens. Try to not weigh all the time during the first 6 weeks. Be nice to yourself & keep moving your bod. The more movement the better. You're doing great!! Hang in there!

Wow, go Tina!! Congrats on your surgery date! Dr Sewell is the best! And the surgery center... oooo la la! Btw, I've became an Isopure vendor yesterday, so if you're interested, I can get it for wholesale for folks in the DFW area. Shoot me a PM if you want some. ($2.50 / bottle instead of $3.50) I'll be thinking of you on Monday!

????????can anyone help me ???????
JanetC replied to somanyquestions's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Welcome to LBT, Questions! I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your insurance question, but I'll bump this so folks see it. Keep reading & searching... perhaps you'll find another way of financing! Good luck on your journey! -
I'm not sure what wakeboarding is, heh, but except for some post-op limitations, I haven't heard of anyone being limited in their physical activity. Post-op, most doctors request you don't do anything strenuous for 10 days & no ab work for a while (4-8 weeks, depending on the doc).

Possible solution for PB's and restriction pain
JanetC replied to Jersey Jesse's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's really personal, Jesse. Some are ready for fills by week 2 post-op, heh, though most doctors make you wait 4-6 weeks or more. Remember that everyone's stomach is a different size... for some it's a stretch to get the band on there! Stomachs like that will have more restriction to start. For some, the band barely touches their stomach without a fill. If you've gone 3 months and still have restriction, enjoy it!! As long as you're losing weight successfully, I think you're fine. When you plateau or find that you're regularly eating more then you should, then you need to get that fill. Congrats on your 60 pounds gone, that's awesome! -

Can someone help me with the process?
JanetC replied to Darkwing11's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I called on Jan 2 for our first appointment. We were self-pay & it took 6 weeks. I could have pulled my hair out! By the time we finally made the decision to do it, I was READY!! Looking back it wasn't that long, lol, but it seemed like FOREVER! Hang in there! You'll make it!
