I ache for Randy... it seems to me that he's trying to hide the gain by wearing concealing shirts, keeping his arms in front of him & by leaning into the table. Simon is not the most caring & understanding of folks when it comes to weight. I dread when he starts picking on Randy about his weight again.

Awesome Anita!

Morning all! I'm with you, Stacey... I've been thinking about the "restricted enough" question for myself. I think I can eat too much. The doctor's office feels like as long as I'm losing weight I shouldn't get filled. I want to tell them that it's just a matter of time before I gain instead of lose, lol. Mikey tells me to focus on how much less I'm eating today then last year. But, but, but, I want to be eating less! But then I hear horror stories of those that get too tight & have to battle reflux, slipping, liquid syndrome, etc. I don't want to be one of them. So I guess my advice to you is... um... yeah. As long as you're losing, keep your current fill. But if you're losing through sheer grit... through will power only... and you know you can eat more, you're just keeping yourself on a tight leash... then tell your doctor that & see if he'll go for another fill. Keep in mind that even taking out your pre-op loss, you've lost right at 1.5 pounds a week, so you're on a rabbit's pace. You're doing great!! (( Hugs!! )) Let us know what you decide!

Wow, that's so cool! Congrats! :Banane13:

LOL, I started a post for numbers & such: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=18346 Mikey helped me look for restaurants & started salivating at the thought of Red Hot & Blue, lol. Hope everyone else likes it as much as he does! I've never been there... but I heard the rumor that they have adult beverages! :Banane13: I called & they do have tables (Mikey thought they were all booths). It's even a touch further south! Heh, operative word being a "touch", lol. :Banane11: Hope to see you there! -
LOL, Michelle! Complain away! It's what we're here for! Hope your product launch goes smoothly... and quickly! I'm so glad your scale is moving!! And good luck with your fill tomorrow! Congrats on your 1 pound, Tammy! I know what you mean about it seeming SOOOO far, but at least it's a pound in the correct direction! And with what you've been going through, ANY loss is worth celebrating!! I'm so sorry about your uncle & aunt! How provident that the heart attack happened inside a hospital! I'm sure she was better off with the immediate care. If you can, try to focus on the positive... she lived through it, she's doing ok, they're both in a good facility that's taking good care of them. I know it stinks to not be there (I'm away from my family too), but you can be an awesome long-distance support: pray, send cards, telephone. You get to stay in touch & help them smile & not have to hear them whine! :Banane13: I'll be praying for you!! Love you, girl! Ouch on the no restriction, Tamyrn! But a trip to Mexico with your son, how fun! On your question, I ate lunch last Sat with a lady that also has a 4cc band. She said that at 3.7 she has no restriction, at 3.9 she's too full, but at 3.8 she's at her sweet spot. So there's hope!! And Kelbel just got 10.1 in a 10cc band, lol. Weird, but true! :Banane45: You'll get there! Welcome SRaeM!! It's never too late to join us! Jump on in & start telling us about your journey! We love to celebrate & cry & prop each other up as we struggle towards our goals together. Ahhh, another VG band (10cc). Tammy & Mikey have them as well. It seems like someone else did to, but I can't remember who! :woot: Hang in there, restriction WILL come! Ouch, Stacey!! And OH MY GOODNESS, you weight 175!!!! When did that happen? Heh, these things just slip up on me! That's so awesome, though, you only have 50 more pounds to go!! You must be feeling so great! My advice, lol, if you choose to accept it. Hmmm... um... yeah. So I'm off the wagon with you. Focus on one thing. Start with water. Get in enough of it. And keep your bod moving! Try to substitute something else for stress eating. Squeeze a tennis ball, punch a punch bag, take up karate (lol), scream in your car, anything but food. And now I get to go read that last paragraph to myself in the mirror! :Banane11: Here, I'll boost you back up on the wagon. Then if you wouldn't mind, would you pull me up behind you? Thanks! That's awesome news about your aunt, Tammy!!! Thanks for keeping us updated! We're still praying... let us know how it all goes!

Wow that's a lot of saline! Hope it works for you, Kel! And that you can still get food through! :Banane13:
-
LOL, can I be the clever duckie? Can I? Can I? Man I hope she means me & not the other Janet, lol! :Banane13: Love ya, Kel! (( Hugs! ))

(( HUGS!!! )) Hang in there thru the agonizing wait time! Think happy thoughts & keep yourself busy, lol. I'm so excited for you for the possibility!! Crossing my fingers, eyes, toes & legs!

To tell you the truth, heh, I'm in a very un-organized mood. How about a restaurant again... just because it's easier? Lemme see if there's a hole-in-the-wall mexican joint around that same area, since it's central... be right back. -
Welcome Cozzie!! We're glad you're here! Congrats on your 28 pounds! That's awesome! And welcome to Delia!! She joins us via PM. I'll let her post any info she wants made public. We're glad you're here, Delia!! Mikey! How good to hear from you! (Heh, yeah, I know I'm silly. ) Hey Lisa! Several of the Febsters lost their first fill. And I heard several from January talking about it in the "General" board. It seems to be a common problem with "first fills". Something about air in the band from the surgery leading to evaporation. I don't really understand it, but I know it does happen. Until it happens several times, I'd assume "normal" & not a leak. Hope your restriction stays!! And big congrats on another 10 pounds, wow!! Sorry I can't help you with Ticker Factory... I've never used it. Wow Julie!! That's a lot of liquid! You'll be dropping pounds like no one's business! I've never heard of such a restricted fill diet, but if you can do it, wow!

Awww, Vines! ((( HUGS!!! ))) How frustrating this diagnosis is getting, huh! At least you know you do have a tumor. Surely that's the first step to getting it diagnosed and under control! (I'm ever the optimist.) I know it's not an easy road that you're facing. I'm sending you healing thoughts, white light & a dose of prayer for good measure! About your mom... tons of hugs & smiles & hand pats & hope. Maybe a silly stuffed animal for her hospital room. A handmade card from your tater tot or letters written from all of you would be treasured I'm sure. But your being there is most likely the most important thing. Good luck! When the times get dark, remember you are loved!!!

Oh my goodness, what an exciting post!!!!!! Congrats Diane! Couldn't have happened to a more deserving lady! Enjoy your new clothes!

Hey Stacey! Glad to hear things are more or less going well, heh. Hope the office moving gets done soon! LOL DonnaB! It sounds like you're not into your soup, lol. Hope you're feeling better! Welcome back, Julie! Glad you didn't gain anything & that you enjoyed Disney! Good luck with your fill -- hope you feel restriction right away! Hi Hanrahh! Welcome to the thread! Congrats on your 18 pounds! Have you had your first fill yet? This week is proving challenging to me, so if I'm absent for a bit, sorry. I'm lurking... trying to keep up with reading, at least, even if I don't have time to post. Counting the days to Friday!

Welcome to LBT, Cat! You just found a great place for support! We're in a group that gets together weekly for meals in the DFW area. One of our members was w/c bound when she started. She has since lost her wheelchair. She's even out of a walker now, she uses her husband's arm & that's it. She is also off of her 24x7 oxygen. She's amazing! I know that each situation is different, but hopefully her's can help somehow. (She doesn't hang out on LBT, she & her husband are on DFWBandsters) Read as many posts as you can here & feel free to ask questions, we love to talk!! Welcome again, we're glad you're here!!

I'll try, TBM! You look awesome!!! Your daughter's changed a bit too. The Best Me's pictures: Before: 2000, ~240, with daughter .......................................................... May 2006: 182, same daughter, age 6 -
Wow Donna! Your belly looks amazing! And is it just me, or do you only have 1 scar? LOL, how'd you manage that? Awesome!! Gonna go buy me some maderma!

Hey Tamryn! You should check the Texas forums every now & then (you have to drill down to find it). We have DFW get togethers about once a month. And Mikey & I have been going to dinners with the Yahoo group: DFW Bandsters as well. They're a fun bunch, though most of them have never heard of LBT, heh. Sherry, several of the people we ate with yesterday were talking about finicky bands. It seems as your fills get tighter it becomes more apparent. I guess mine's not that tight yet! Hope you get yours figured out!
-
Awww, DonnaB! I'm sorry to welcome you to the club! It sounds like you have your initiation well under control. When you go back to eating, remember to space those bites out!
-
Hiya Macy! Welcome to LBT! Congrats on your surgery date! I've heard good things about Dr Spiegel! If you have any questions ask away! (( Hugs! )) We're glad you're here!
-
LOL DonnaB!! Can you say margaritas? Joyce & Debi started a rumor on DFWBandsters that they're going early to "pre-drink", lol. I think we're going to show up about 1:45, if you have a change of heart! On the other hand, staying home might be comforting... just be sure you reach for hot tea & NOT chocolate! (( HUGS!!!! ))

Wow, Kel... if it's totally under control, I don't know what his worry is! Has anyone heard of side effects from long term usage of relux drugs? I know that I was on them for a year pre-op with no effect (that I knew of). My primary care didn't seem to think it was a big deal, but that's not saying much (not my favorite person). You might do some research to find out if there's side effects. If not, um, yeah. I shouldn't really tell you to lie to your doctor, lol...
