Assuming more then Mikey & I come, lol, I'm game to make it monthly! As soon as the 25th happens, I'll start a thread for April.
-
I know our doctor will take you, but you have to be approved by him... i.e. you have to do all of the normal pre-op appointments. If he would have accepted you to begin with, he'll take you on. It's a lot of hoops to jump through... but perhaps you can find a doc that's willing.

That's awesome!! Congrats!

That's awesome!! Especially the ab tightening! Congrats! -
Cashley -- welcome!! Stacey -- I'm so glad you're feeling better! Hope the rest of it leaves you fast! If you're drinking a lot of milk, you might try to cut back on it some. Nanster -- I felt every word! WE CAN DO THIS!! We only told family... but I got in a fight yesterday with my mom. I told her that pre-op I could eat 3 things from Taco Bell (I like using it as a measurement). Post-op, I could eat approx 1 thing. Now I think I could eat 2 things. So I'm frustrated, because I see myself creeping back up to my pre-op behavior. Her response? "Why would you be eating at Taco Bell?" AUGH!!!!! It was just an example, lol! I often feel the need to tell others, but I think I'll wait until we get a fill or 2... until we start losing some weight! Gastric bypass has really trained people to expect miracles. You can tell them this is different until you're blue in the face... they just don't get it! Yeah, heh, get me started & I rant a bit, lol. Happy Saturday!!

Hehe, there IS a silver lining! At least we can mostly tuck / hide it!

Happy Bandiversary!! That's awesome weight loss!! :clap2: Congrats!

Sunta: That's awesome news!!!! I hope you can get the pain resolved soon! Tammy: Sorry about the gain... I gained too. I keep repeating my mantra, "Healing period, healing period, healing period." Hopefully we'll do better when we get a fill! Northernsun: Welcome to the Febsters! Stacey: When did you get the pain? Were you empty or full? I've been hurting if I get too empty... or when I'm too full. I of course push it, lol, both ways. Yours sounds worse then mine though, so you might be getting something? I just read an interesting article... a high protein diet has a tendence to leech calcium from your body, so it's really important that we supplement it. I knew our doctor required it for us, I just didn't know why! Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Heh, glad we're not making you drive in just for lunch!

We'll show up early & be visible, so we can be a gathering point. Hmmm, maybe a sign? Hehe. Seriously, though, I'll attach a pic. It's from 2003, so add 100 pounds to me... and some hair to Mikey's face, lol. Oh, and my hair is red at the moment (scheduled to change at any moment). I'll probably be in jeans & a black shirt (my uniform of choice, lol)... Mikey will probably be in black slacks & a black T-shirt. We don't match on purpose, lol, but it happens! Hmmm, the pic icon isn't showing up... so I'll be editing this! -
I take a B-complex regularly, though I've been bad about it since surgery (right when I NEED it, lol). I bought a liquid one, and it tastes AWFUL!! I'm gonna have to see if I can find a chewable.

Yeah, I do too!! And then Simon said Kelly was better then Carrie? What was he thinking??? Insane! But what really ticks me off with Simon is his comments to Gedeon. He just keeps putting him down in little ways -- comments about his smile & "he's a funny little thing". The kid is 17, he's going to get a complex! I've already gotten one for him!
-
Give it time!! How big is your band? 4cc? And he put in what, .5cc? It'll probably take a fill or 2 to even feel it, though some people feel it right away, so they have to be careful. Hang in there!

I think it'll depend on if people judge by this week or if they go overall. And of course some of the voting is just popularity. My guesses for leaving: Kinnik & Melissa (though I'm scared it might be Paris, she wasn't great this week) Kevin & either Will or Bucky (though Chris left me wanting this week) Overall, I'm loving Katharine & Lisa for the girls & Taylor & Chris, though I love Gedeon. And ACE will end up successful in some type of entertainment. On a calendar, if nothing else, lol. Can't wait for tonight!

Hi everyone! Wow, I missed a lot! Hopefully I caught everyone's questions so I can get my 2 cents in! Sunta - so glad you got answers!! Hope you don't have a clot! LBdancer & Dancer - thanks for the kind words! Dancer - happy 1 month bandiversary! nanster - My first post-op was 1 week, but all they did was check our scars & ask if all was well. At 3 weeks we saw the nutritionist. Then our first fill is 5 weeks (supposed to be 6, but they moved it up for us, woot!) Everyone -- congrats on the weight loss!! I've heard Biotin is important for your hair, as well as Protein. Lots of folks have posted that they're supplementing it as well. I'm dying on the diet, lol. I'm already past my breaking point... and probably shouldn't admit to this, but my habits are sneaking back to pre-op. I'm not happy about it... and am dealing with depression to boot. My doc says post-op depression is normal... so does the web, lol, but augh!! This whole dealio was supposed to help, not hurt!! Oh well, we're off to therapy. Maybe I'll get brave & bring up some of my issues there! :star: Hugs all around! :star:

Jason's Deli 7707 N MacArthur Blvd, Suite 100 Irving, TX 75063-7510 972-432-0555 From the poll, it's looking like 3/25, 11 am (lunch). Would love to see you all there!

LOL, you're right, though, I should post it here as well! Hmmm, I'll wait until we have a time set & then post the details here. Terri, the surgery really wasn't that bad. I had worked myself up into a lather, but Mikey (my hubby) talked me down. He had me start listing all the reasons I was doing it -- while deep breathing. I went to sleep waiting for the surgery center to get setup, lol. I don't remember a thing after getting my IV! So my advice, breathe!!

Increased depression/anxiety after surgery?
JanetC replied to Sunta's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I did a google search on post-operative depression & came up with this site: http://www.med.umich.edu/depression/condition.htm ... I too have been feeling down. Well, more then down. It seems that surgery often leads to depression, all kinds of surgery. And the fact that we're facing huge life changes makes it a bigger struggle. Since you have some history with depression, I would monitor it... journal & what-not to see if it gets too big. If you're not managing it, get help! Just be sure to mention that you're post-op & what the surgery was. And if anyone knows someone that gives low cost (or free) therapy in the DFW area, lol, let me know! -
Shameless bump... looks like we're leaning towards lunch on the 25th. Make your voice heard!
