You are likely dehydrated already, are you peeing darker urine or peeing much at all? Call the bariatric team asap, they can get another physician to call in a scrip for meds. Try lukewarm tea w a little ginger root. Try diluted broths, sip a teaspoon, then wait 5-10 minutes, try another. Stand up to sip.

Has Anyone Kept Their Surgery A Secret?
Sosewsue61 replied to Dtrain84's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have told my husband (supportive), 3 daughters(supportive), 4 friends that do not live anywhere near me (supportive/questioning), and my niece Phyllis - which might have been a mistake. She and I have been close as she is only 3 years younger than me, but I was surprised at her reaction - 'Oh, really.' She is at least 125lbs larger than me, and said she has never considered wls. I found that rather odd. I told her not to tell my sister(s) because Carla was not supportive when my brother's daughter had band surgery several years ago w a lower bmi. Phyllis's mother passed away over 20 years ago at 53 of colon cancer and wanted wls so badly, but at that time insurance denied nearly everyone. I was surprised at her reaction entirely and thought maybe by me taking the route she might think of it for herself. Everyone else can just stuff it because it is none of their business. -
Okay, I have arthritis in my knees and a little in my shoulder (old horseback riding injuries). I had TKR in the right knee but still need to take something for joint pain. Currently I take Aleve, in fact the ortho said 2 in am and 2 in pm, I really don't want to take that much but there are times when I do. Question: what is anyone taking after the sleeve for this (as nsaids are banned)? (Tylenol has never done a thing for me ever for pain) Thanks.

Where's everyone from? How's your pre-op diet going? What's your surgery date?

Just stay busy, take a short walk, take a short nap, do a hobby. Stay away from regular tv w commercials of food. Take a spa day - get a pedicure, buy some bath salts - soak in the tub, slather lotion on, put a face mask on, etc etc. And when you do eat, light a candle, get out the good dishes, put flowers on the table, use a real napkin. -

Long term vsg implications
Sosewsue61 replied to Deactivatedfatgal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I may be naive but is anyone getting tested for H.pylori? I found this while looking for GERD treatments. According to the Textbook of Functional Medicine, low stomach acid predisposes one to the growth of H. pylori and is also linked to SIBO and inadequate Vitamin B12 absorption. It’s also noted that low levels of vitamin C, and vitamin E in gastric fluids promote the growth of H. pylori. And while there aren’t decisive studies showing that H. pylori is the direct cause of heartburn and acid reflux, there is an implied association there. -

Veterans that previously had high cholesterol
Sosewsue61 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Good morning. I am interested in veterans (or anyone post-op) that had high cholesterol before wls and whether surgery had any effect on cholesterol numbers - 6 months out, 1 year out, years beyond, etc. Also was this with or without startig/continuing any medication? Thank you. -

It's pretty amusing that you are triggered endlessly........'Is that all there is, is that all there is If that's all there is my friends, then let's keep dancing Let's break out the booze and have a ball If that's all there is…' Like the song that never ends......

What are you substituting for the comfort that food brings?
Sosewsue61 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So those on 'the other side' where are you placing the emotions of overeating? Of how food served you in that way? What takes its place and how did you do that? -
@PatientEleventyBillion you think you are helping, but you come off as mannerless and uncouth. And therefore negate any advice you give. And enough with the snowflake crap already - no one wants to hear it. And I am not one, so don't retort back on that.

So sorry you have to wait.
