  1. Aw dang it!! I am sick 19 days before surgery, I don't need this right now. I don't want to be more tired and run down right before I start the pre-op in 9 days. Yay me, not!!! We went to an indoor waterpark at the Dells on Sunday and 9 of the 13 came down with the flu....mine is morphing into a head cold as well. And I want to have my whole house in order beforehand but my energy is ZERO!!!
  2. Go Lillie! Good luck!
  3. Good morning. How many used the Clear Fast product 2 hours before surgery? Please tell your experience. Has anyone asked their surgeon about it if he doesn't recommend this method? Anyone go against and use it anyway?

Hon, that red is not good. Don't be afraid to ask the doctor. Send them a picture of this and description of pain.

    Might need another surgery.

I feel so awful for you. Gut issues are difficult to diagnose and treat sometimes. Hang in there.

    feeling bummed

Hang in there...did insurance require weight loss/no gain or just 6 months diet supervision? Did ins state they would deny you if you gained? Keep at them.
  7. I am not on the 'other side' yet, but for those suffering depressive symptoms please don't give up. Releasing fat releases hormones like crazy and messes with any imbalances present and/or brings new ones. Exercise and sometimes meds can help you gain relief, make sure you also take your vitamins and supplements.

So fed up and pissed off

Why do you have to quit nursing? How old is the baby? I would not give up nursing, surgery can wait. I don't understand the reasons, other than lack of nutrition for you to produce milk. Other moms have continued to nurse, I would want to see the evidence that says you have to quit prior to surgery. I am a b***h that way - and former LLL Leader, so I would be the tiger momma. A lot of physicians are ignorant of the breastfeeding relationship. You would need to pump n dump because of anesthetic. Are they going to make you show that you have quit by trying to express milk? (I sound angrier than you lol)

    Advice needed

An average plan consists of Week One - liquids popsicles, jello, broth including clear protein drinks aiming for minimum of 60 gr protein for women and 64oz of water every day always. Week Two - full liquids - cream soups, etc but same goals of protein and water. Week Three - add some texture like blended cottage cheese, still using shakes to get adequate protein. Maybe refried beans....Week Four - soft foods - scrambled eggs, etc. It just progresses as you heal and tolerate texture and solids after chewing and chewing. Sometimes it takes longer to tolerate certain foods. And after you can tolerate more and more solids always stop liquids 30 minutes before eating and at least 30 minutes after eating. You can find all this on these forums by using the search function and putting ' food stages post-op ' in the bar.
  16. You look good. So much fun slipping into a smaller garment!

    GOAL! (B&A pictures)

Ellie - you are young, 23 am I correct? And I think your skin will adjust a lot, especially after you get some muscle and a couple years. And if you have not had kids or are not done having kids then wait on plastics until after that. I think you look amazing.

    Stupid Smoking

Chantix will take a little while to be effective, a couple weeks. Hang in there, get some sugar free hard candy.

    Hair loss

This has me very worried, as I already have thin fine hair.....wah wah.... And going on a cruise 3.5 months after surgery....hope it waits until after that if it happens. It seems very individual as to when, how much, and how long.

    Traveling after surgery

Are you flying and renting a car? or driving? Take your own cute thermos (Sip by S'Well) with you - empty of course in suitcase, and get a little individual blender. Pack some gasx strips, vitamins, stool softeners, etc. If renting a car, go to a grocery and get some protein waters, yogurts, string cheese, milk, protein bars, individual packets of nut butters, small bag of almonds - if you tolerate them. Put a couple of these items in a fanny pack or small day pack. Keep liquid with you all day, try to eat something in between actual meals because you won't know exact times you will eat or how long waiting times will be in lines. Just pick protein first when dining. Have fun.

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

@Véronique Yeah, I know, poor choice but I was kinda craving it and asked myself why not? Well, I figured out why not shortly after having it. I started getting sweaty and dizzy and I had to puke up the entire shake once I got into the bathroom. Now, I'm not sure WHY it happened, as I have had a few sweet things after the surgery and haven't experienced this. Really girl, cravings are not to be indulged!!!!!
