Sleeve VS RNY (Any advice welcome!)
Sosewsue61 replied to Road2Newme3's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You are young - any children in your future? Because the bypass will take a toll on your body nutrient wise, especially during pregnancy. And that unused stomach can get reflux and ulcers - how is that to be treated, can't get medicine to it orally. My nurse at my PCP - now has this 7yrs out from bypass plus B12 deficiency. -

TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY!
Sosewsue61 replied to ohbaby718's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck. Friday the 13th has been lucky for me - I was married on a 13 Friday over 20 years ago... -
Good luck. Use the time to examine the role of food in your life, develop some hobbies, get a fitbit and start walking if you can. It goes faster than you think.

Don't you have a NUT and a surgical team to give you guidelines?

Gastric sleeve disaster
Sosewsue61 replied to carolinessss's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This is horrendous. I am so sorry you have had these complications. Some care in Mexico needs to be greatly improved and in my opinion they release patients too soon from any care. I have read where patients get released the same day and fly home the next. How can that be good medical care? My physician doesn't allow anything by mouth for 24 hours and after the fluoroscopic swallow test. And you might even stay an additional night. -

Sosewsue61 replied to Kellie Black's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We are not physicians. How do you know you have a blockage in your throat? Who told you this? -

List a typical day of food and water. I am sure you are anxious, aren't we all. I can only give you encouragement, hang in there. -
Nausea after surgery?
Sosewsue61 replied to jcb123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try warm ginger tea before the shakes. I too get nauseous from surgery pain meds from two non-wls surgeries. (My wls is in 12 days, crossing fingers they give me a patch) -

Good luck. You will need extra nutrition and follow all the dr's advice to the letter. What birth control were you using? Just curious. -

Alcohol use before surgery
Sosewsue61 replied to Michelle D's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Alcohol is metabolised by the small intestine, but primarily affects the liver. Legally it leaves your system in 5 hours but metabolically 10 hours. Do you really NEED to drink alcohol? Which is more important? -
How do you tell your new job that you have to take off
Sosewsue61 replied to CrissCriss's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just a warning - some companies have 90 day cannot miss work rule, better read the handbook cover to cover. -
Stopped losing weight at 2 weeks
Sosewsue61 replied to Kristinisgettingskinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try ready-made Isopure in blue raspberry - they are tart, not overly sweet. Hang in there, relax and just keep following the plan.
