  1. What kind of pain, when, where? After eating, when swallowing, incisions, back, shoulder, only at night, etc?

    Strictures/Stenosis?

We all get that anxiety, it's normal just don't let it become a runaway train. Good luck!! See you on the sleeve side soon.

    Scrambled Eggs

Baked eggs in ramekins with a tablespoon of milk or tomato sauce on top, or dijon mustard and cheddar (or cream cheese). Just barely oil the dish, crack egg in dish, and put water in 13x9 cake pan put ramekins in water and bake at 350 until set. You could make a bunch of diff flavors at once.

    Puréed stage: Baby foods???

Some of the meats I heard are much improved, if you add a little salt and garlic. I saw at Aldi's a blend of blueberries, spinach and something else in one of those squeeze things that looked interesting. As far as nutrition it would totally depend on the ingredients. But rice is a filler, go for squash or something along that line or why not try refried beans?
  5. I have no experience to add, but there are others on this board that still get gerd or ulcers after the revision in that stomach portion that is unused, you just don't get reflux in the esophagus. They had initial relief but became very ill again after 2 years. My PCP's nurse had bypass 7yrs ago and has a bad ulcer in that unused portion of her stomach. Just something to consider. Some have regretted the 2nd surgery. One suggestion is to try every medication, especially suggested was Nexium even if insurance won't cover the brand. This is the name of the thread on here, put it in the search function - Sleeve revision to gastric bypass tomorrow

    Strictures/Stenosis?

That is an extremely small study with so many variables - you did not include all these. The majority had type II diabetes and that significantly affected the presence of the dysphagia, also they did not review the techniques these 3 surgeons used - which could also affect the outcome of the sleeve. And the significant use of anti-inflammatory meds and opioid pain killers - so like I said too many variables. And also patient compliance with following post-op instructions was not considered either. You are 'buying' trouble by trying to find silimarities to yourself in inconclusive studies. You instead need to consult with your surgeon and ask about his/her statistics - how many complications and what kind, any strictures, any leaks, etc etc. There are very few significant complications with this surgery. Good luck and chill out. Correlation is not causation.
  7. Just tell yourself you HAVE to do it. I agree on weaning yourself from the caffeine and starchy stuff. At one time or another everyone has to do fasting for medical tests. You can talk yourself down from the ledge, it will be easier after you wean from the stuff - I never ever thought I would give up diet coke - but I did. I used to drink at least 6 cans a day when I worked in IT.

    What am I doing wrong?

I am nearly the same for wt loss at 13 days post-op. I lost 10 on pre-op liquids and 5 at my 1 week post-op weigh-in. I too am not taking in much nutrition, ab 400 calories, ab 45gr protein and 40oz water. I intend to increase my protein and water as much as I can, but it is hard to do. We have to hang in there and keep going. I am consuming some pureed cottage cheese, pureed tuna and avocado, and ricotta bake - small small amounts. As well as a shake and some Isopure clear protein drink. And sf chocolate pudding did not sit well at all - so that is off my list - who knows why. Your hunger could be acid reflux. I am def NOT hungry, could care less about food - but not fond of passing out either lol.
  9. Ha...I don't do ABJD but was heavy into sixth scale Barbie scenes - I still have my dolls and loved sewing fashions and doing photo shoots - travel doll diaries.... I love anything involving fabric.
  10. No protein shakes? I was allowed those and liquids, it takes awhile to adjust to so little calories, I nearly passed out a couple times. It does improve, I still need a nap daily and I am 13 days out. Hang in there.

    1 year surgiversary

    Wow awesome collage!!
  12. I had thrush, it went away in a week on its own with continuing to push liquids - I did have to take that orange pill for a UTI though for a few days. I took pain meds at night for a back/hip pain but it was several days after surgery and used a heating pad on and off as well. I am 13 days out and much improved in that area. More walking helped all of that as well. Hang in there.

    It all started at 450

Great job!! Don't feel lonely, it's not the sharing of food, it's the sharing of conversation and fellowship. (Think of it this way - if your 97yr old granny could only eat baby food and you were all together at the dinner table you would feel blessed that granny was there in the room with you and not worry about the food.)
  14. Really pizza? Chicken tenders are 50% breading. Aren't you supposed to follow a plan with consuming lean protein first, then vegetables, then maybe a starch? What are your macros - #protein grams/day, etc?

    Lost of weight

    Congrats!

    Trouble sticking to LSD

    What is an LSD?

    Leaks

Why are you stressing? Did you ask your surgeon about his statistics? (Have any of your patients developed a leak, when, how many? Mine had none. He had to repair one from Mexico.) Are you following your Dr's plan? Are you having issues?

    Social events

Your 2yr old grandbaby doesn't care if you eat cake - just needs you to be there AND be there for years to come. I never pay attention to what anyone is eating at a bd party, too busy watching the kiddos open presents. You can always volunteer to take the photos. Or clean up, then go in the kitchen and take a few bites of your planned food, come back out with a drink in your hand and look busy. Fake it.

    Finally Started to Excercise

I always did 15 minute warm up on treadmill, a little stretching, then weights. I disagree doing weights first because as a fellow senior you don't want cold muscles - quickest way to injure something. And work upper body one day and lower body the next, alternating.

    Got a date... Chickened out!

If your only fear is complications, that is normal for any surgery. This surgery is less risky than a gallbladder surgery. I suspect there is more to it than that with you. But at any rate stop wasting everyone's time, including the medical staff and decide already. Maybe you aren't mature enough to commit, maybe you are afraid of giving up eating a quantity of food, maybe staying obese is somehow serving you or protecting you from something. Go to counseling or figure it out.
  24. I puree tuna w my avocado - yum. Just take it really slow to introduce stuff. Some people have texture issues w scrambled eggs, do better w soft boiled smashed up.

    Nervous

You are a beautiful lady. Just keep following the plan. Try just elininating starchy carbs, they make you crave things. Stick to grilled/baked meats and cooked veggies. When I worked, I had to have a 3 o'clock protein break - a string cheese and an apple, or a handful of almonds, or a couple ounces of tuna salad. And a short brisk walk. For liquid diet, it's tough but you can do it. Sam's choice bone broth and Premier Protein shakes, both at Walmart. I also like Jay Robb Dreamsicle packets. Good luck. Just post on here when you need to vent or fid a friend.
