    Low BMI

Your questions on combined surgeries are for a surgeon or between two surgeons, we are not qualified to answer that. In a layman's opinion I would guess get the prolapse fixed, recovery and then wls, if indicated. BMI 30 is very low and you will not find many people on here to respond, I have seen a few that qualify at 35 BMI with multiple health issues like diabetes, sleep apnea, or other chronic diseases. What are your other health issues, and is weight adding to them?

    Petrified and indecisive

Concerned that this whole thread was hijacked by alcohol - how to drink, when to drink, what to drink, can I ever have fun drinking again????? You are young so I get the mentality to an extent. Maybe you compensate while being obese by being the fun, drinking girl? And maybe your fear is more than just the being able to drink part - maybe it's the changes about how others will see you once your at normal weight and aren't the life of the party? Also not dominating the thread, your health issues. What is more important? Put your priorities in order. With fertility the main one, do you want every chance to resolve the PCOS while you can before premature menopause, or do you want to worry about drinking? Go to counseling and bring all this up and get it sorted out. I wish you the very best in your decisions and the future joy of good health.
  4. I can take decent size swigs as well. At first, NO it was more like swallowing aquarium gravel!!!! lol. And during that time I got a little dehydrated too. So I am glad I can take close to normal swallows.

    Decided on sleeve or band

I guess my first question is - why do you want to eat the same as before? Isn't that how we all got here. No surgery is magical. After healing and following the NUT's dietary guidelines you will be able to consume most any food - doesn't mean you should. You will need to work a maintenance program forever. FOREVER. Sleeve surgery is not much riskier than lapband, still laprorscopic. Some people have nausea, I have not had any at 17 days out. I had heartburn from the marinara sauce brand in the ricotta bake I made - so I will avoid that for awhile. I am healing yet and it's all individual on how food choices go, some may have intolerance to certain foods initially and maybe even for quite some time. Some cannot tolerate how rice expands in the stomach, some have to always toast their bread, etc. These are minor non-deal breakers because just HOW important are a couple food items compared to gaining your health back?

    Could I be loosing more?

So post a typical day of eating, with amounts, grams of protein, etc. You gave very little info to analyze.

    My first goal accomplished!!!!

Woohoo!!! Doing the happy dance for you!!
  8. I don't think the amount is the OP's concern, but the ability to take normal size slugs and feel no resistance. Be careful chugging too fast and too much because you won't have enough time to know if too much is going to cause you to suddenly upchuck. This may change too as you heal and swelling goes down - remember the staple line takes at least 6 weeks to heal and sometimes 3 months. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should throw caution to the wind. The pyloric valve at the junction between the stomach and intestine does not hold liquids - it passes through, solids will give you resistance. Good luck.

    I have a surgery date!

Welcome Adrian. Please check out @JerseyJules on these forums and his youtube videos. Also @BigViffer on here - they have both rocked the sleeve. @DropWt4Life too.
  10. How is the malabsorbtion being addressed now? Shots? Infusions?

    Having vsg Sept 8 2017

Dizziness could be from dehydration, be careful. And try mild baked fish for protein, or moistened pork roast, salmon, turkey chili, turkey enchiladas, cheese omelet. Good progress, keep working at it.

    Good news. Hang in there.

    Might back out...

@Lainey H you might gently tell him that you know he loves you and wants the best for you, and that he might be scared, but this is the best decision for you to make, and then tell him those little comments might be his insecurity showing but that it is not what being supportive looks like. Tell him you need him the most right now and you are thankful he is in your court.

    Slippery slope

Take a deep breath, all is not lost. Eating won't help the job situation, only make you more depressed. Take action, action precedes motivation. Go back to writing down everything you eat, even the wrong things. Use a free app. Update your resume. Make contacts. Make a list of where to apply. File for unemployment. Cut out unnecessary expenses - like junk food, eating out, flavored drinks. Good luck. Come on here to vent - before you eat.
  15. Yeah I had a husband once that used to say ' This is good, but it would be better if you put some cheese in it.' I just love left handed compliments <sarcasm>. (That was the one I didn't keep, not the reason for divorce mind you)

    Any tips?

Make a little list and check off when you have mastered a goal. For instance - I gave up all soda and switched to ice tea the first month, then I stopped doing any fast food or if that is too hard - ditch the fries, then half the bun, etc. Do 3 meals and two snacks. Make the snacks a protein and a fruit like berries and string cheese, an apple and 1oz of cheddar. Eat at a table only, not in the car, not on the couch, not in front of a computer or tv. Notice your food, eat slower, stop after 10 minutes and see how full you feel, leave food on your plate.
  17. What are the requirements? How much protein, carbs, fats, sugar? Use a free app like Baritastic or Lose It, it will break all that down for you.
  18. Driving - 1 week. I am just today feeling some energy and surgery was Oct 24th, but I am a lot older than you, but raising 2 grandkids. I would enlist some family to help you out for 2 weeks. How old are the kiddos? Have them do dishes and fold laundry. I would make chili, and a couple casseroles, then keep it simple - crock pot meals plus salad. If no family can help - maybe find a high school girl to come after school. You will be restricted on lifting for about 6 weeks, nothing over 10lbs. Your full time job will be to drink sips of liquid ALL DAY LONG, it is really easy to get dehydrated. I needed a nap everyday until this monday. Good luck.
  19. Woah....you look so good!! (I hope I gain some height, I'm such a shorty and i'll take any extra I can get)

    The struggle is real..

Exactly what DropWt4Life said. You can soldier through this, most of us had to just get through it and it will be worth it. After a couple days you won't be as hungry - you will be bored - lol - so find something to occupy your mind - a book, a hobby, a marathon Netflix session, a long walk, etc. Good luck - you are almost to the 'other side'.

    Low Carb

Beans are a good carb because it has fiber, and they have protein and on my plan it is completely allowed.

    Throwing up

Mucus? Or slimes? How long have you been sleeved? And how much are you consuming at a meal - how many ounces and of what?
