  1. I'm losing hair, started a couple weeks ago, not huge amounts but mine is already thin. I hope it doesn't last long. I have medium length hair and got a body wave so it isn't flat to my head for now, and layers - I figure the layers will be less weighing it down.

    Buyers remorse

Don't worry about workouts right now until you get your fluid up, you are in danger of dehydration. You are likely tired and slightly dehydrated. Working out will make that worse, so first things first - fluids, you have to get that doubled. Get a popsicle, tea, sf flavored water, anything to hydrate.
  3. How long ago was your surgery? Is the dr going to order some tests? I hope you get relief.

    Dry heaves for no reason?

Oh sooo sorry you are having this experience, you poor dear. Have you mentioned this to your surgeon? Were you constipated before these two events? I would review your food journal with your doctor and to maybe rule out some offending item(s) or get some tests/labs. Good luck.

    Lap-Band vs Gasteric Balloon

You risk opinions by asking on a forum, you asked for opinions. I am not shaming you, I don't believe stating you are obese is inaccurate, I put myself in this category. Shaming would be saying 'fatty fatty two by four', ha ha ha. Permanent success is needed and not more failure. The balloon is not very successful in your bmi range, the band is largely being abandoned by physicians - also facts. If you are confident in your physician's estimation of your choice and success then you don't need opinions on here. If you are looking for just validation then you are insecure in your choice, we are not research scientists, we are opinionated wls patients and everyone is an individual with individual results and individual lifestyles as you may. Some drink alcohol, many do not - amounts vary. But you will not get it sugar coated.

    Lap-Band vs Gasteric Balloon

From what I understand of these surgeries - the lapband is being dropped by most surgeons because it erodes and slips - it works for many people, but more and more are having them removed due to those issues. The balloon is usually for people not as obese as you are, as it is a short term fix for restriction, and I only know one person that had it and had issues so it didn't work well for her. Also if you are too worried about alcohol and a client's 'opinion' of you not drinking you need more reflection on what you really want/need. Your health preserved or a two minute observation on not consuming liquor. Really? You ARE morbidly obese. I am not trying to be unkind - I started at 41bmi, so that was me too. There are no quick, handy cute fixes.

    Long term consequences?

You had the band, lost weight, no fill, gained it back, sooo my conclusion would be that you will likely continue to gain and even if you lose some weight the traditional way, keeping it off will be the main issue all of us battled before surgeries, plus you already have dental issues that aren't going to go away regardless. Becoming diabetic will ruin teeth as well, plus internal organs and blood vessels....you are headed to become diabetic at 300#s. If you need dental work in the future you will find a way to get the money somehow. With weight loss many people get promoted or find better paying jobs, or have energy for a second seasonal job just for special income.

    Dehydration 9 months post-op

So maybe try an app that reminds you to drink. A fancy water bottle won't fix it, if you don't raise it to your lips and use it. Are you having trouble swallowing liquids? Or just not taking time to drink? Drink right before meals and then set a timer to drink 30 minutes after you finish a meal. Put water by your bedside and when you get up to pee drink several slugs then. When you get up drink at least 8oz before ANY food. Try hot broth, tea, popsicles, soups before meals. You are the only one that can fix this, by DOING.
  10. Has anyone experienced insomnia from vitamins, particularly B vitamins? I am wondering because I have developed this wakefulness at 3:30AM for this past week and I also started taking my B vitamin and my second multi then too (I was neglecting my second dose, I know slap me) in the afternoon. Whatever it is it's damned annoying!!!
  11. At 3 weeks you are just nutrition deprived and your body needs some real food, hang in there solid food is not much longer down the road. You will be happier once you can chew real food and have a few more calories - then you can have a real snack as a planned one and won't feel like this. For now just try to enjoy the companionship of the people you are with - do a crossword puzzle to keep your hands busy or learn to crochet, or bead jewelry or read a novel or take a walk during a work break - see if another coworker wants to join you.
  12. No. You have no major health indicators, nor are you obese. You are not far from a normal bmi - 15 lbs and you are 20 yrs old. AND this surgery is ALL about restriction, you stated you are 'tired' of the restriction . I feel you are also immature based on that statement. If I were you, I would go to a nutritionist and hire a personal trainer. One week of a liquid diet and you would be halfway done with weight loss. You don't even mention what weight loss programs you have tried so far or if you exercise at all.

    Aches and Pains

There are ligament/ joint adjustments while losing weight, we sit and walk differently, so our carriage is changing. My stomach doesn't lead the way anymore, so other muscles are stretching in a different direction. I seem taller and my knees bang together in my sleep - ouch - less padding, also I have no ass - that chair suddenly got harder lol

    Small Vent Session!

Stick to your decision, and tell them that it's nice that they care, but what you need right now is no detractors from YOUR decision. Then full speed ahead, start preparing your supplies, test some protein shakes, get excited!!! Good luck.

    Feeling Really Down

@Macs1978 I would not tell anyone to get divorced, that doesn't help you right now with your surgery or journey. I would however take your husband out for coffee and tell him his responses are not that of a grown man that is supposed to cherish his wife for herself, AND that he is forbidden from further comments good or bad on your weight because you cannot be sure of his integrity on the subject based on the recent comments. And then tell him you forgive him. Close the subject. He now owns his behavior entirely. And stick to this, and gear up for your journey - clean out your cupboards of junk (your daughter doesn't need it, there will be plenty of kid events and holidays for that and the hubs can get his own diversions, he is an adult) - you run the house and set the rules. Love yourself, honor your awesomeness, let go of guilt, shame, and anger. Good luck.

How often do you throw up?

Tell your 'friend' that you just don't want to hear about her episodes anymore. I think she is triggering you on purpose. And don't share with her either, she sounds like she has a variety of issues and could derail you. Ask your anesthesiologist for a scopolamine patch for nausea before you go down to surgery - the patch lasts three days, and it was great - no nausea at all in the recovery stage. I have the sleeve, and I have had one too many bites, and had to spit up, had slimes/foamies from eating too fast or two large of a bite, but no actual vomiting.

    Feeling Really Down

Your husband is a total tool. And he is using excuses to be mean. He has no idea how difficult this is to be obese, to diet and fail, to have to struggle with the impact of the weight and the attempts to lose the weight, no idea at all. AND when you are successful, he will not credit you with it, he will then say - 'the surgery did it, not you, you took the easy way out.' I can hear it now. He says he is saying these things because they are 'the truth' but he is also delivering that with malice and intentional pain. He needs counseling. Stand firm, don't let him or anyone get in your way of this surgery or your goals. We support you here, come and vent all you want, and we will cheer you on and celebrate your successes.

    Blue Care Network troubles!!

@mamaddot that is likely due to the state of LA not reimbursing physicians at a decent rate and delaying reimbursements, and physicians getting tired of the jerking.
