  1. Yay Fluffy! My latest food obsession is avocado, tomato with my morning egg or omelet. Also eliminating one snack a day but I have to be careful I was a little lightheaded in Hobby Lobby yesterday. Holy **** Batman - I was shopping so much and suddenly it was 2pm and I hadn't eaten LUNCH! LOL So I had groceries in the car - provolone cheese, deli turkey, and a wheat cracker later I was okey dokey. I can't wait to get to FL for vacay# 2 this week and go to the fresh fish markets - I wonder if blue crabs are in season?

    Lightheaded

Everyone has to draw their own conclusions on their body's reactions to food choices, if it makes you feel like crap then stop eating it. Was it on a fairly empty stomach? Ice cream liquifies and enters the blood stream quickly enough in non-altered insides and the logic is it would be quicker in altered stomachs, yes?
  3. Yay! You are on the other side and it all begins!!
  4. What a transformation! Great job!
  5. https://www.bariatriccookery.com/category/bariatric-budget-buster-recipe-2 Hey guys, I found this website and thought I would share it.
  6. Good luck, you will be fine. Everyone is nervous before taking this step. Just take deep breaths and visualize how you it will be on the other side.

    Sleeve Complications

Kate so sorry you are having so many problems, I hope the tests reveal some solutions for you. @KateBruin (can you update your profile on BP please, so we can keep track of your surgery?)

    Want to go rouge!

Eh blenders don't add that much air and you can stir it after blending.
  9. I suggest you consult the physician prescribing the meds and that he/she contact the bariatric surgeon and get educated on the impact of malabsorption of this med. I cannot give any experience for RNY, I had the sleeve - I briefly went to a crushed IR version of Wellbutrin after surgery but went back to SR after a few weeks of healing. (You can't crush any extended release medication)
  10. What would make you think liquid would stay in your stomach regardless? Do you not have guidelines on how much and how fast to consume? Hold onto your seat because there are many new revelations to come on this journey, I suggest you poke around with the search feature on these forums and do some research on food stages, portions, drinking liquids, stalls, etc.

    What to eat?

Isopure ready-made blue raspberry or punch diluted with crystal light lemonade was all I could tolerate after surgery. Bone broth.

    Gallbladder Disease?

Yes. Use the search function at the top of the forum and you will get answers from previous postings.

    Drinking Pains

Yes, this is normal, you have inflammation. Try sf popsicles or warm tea and alternate the two.

    Irritable

Yes, I am cranky at times, and a bit mouthier as my patience for bs has lessened considerably. I have had to take a walk, take a shower, take a nap, leave in the car, pet some fabric, etc and it passes. These are all physical motions - doing anything physical quiets the mind/mood.

    Hungry...

Yep, it will pass and it is miserable in the mean time. Hang in there. Tey another brand of protein drink - maybe Isopure ready-made blue raspberry or punch, bone broth, etc.

    Sleeve recovery time

For myself - I was so tired the first month (from so little nutrition) there was no way I would have been any good at an outside job. I had an easy recovery, no pain after 2 days and was up and about. And since we are all individuals there is the unknown about your body's reaction to major surgery or your tolerance for the food and liquid stages, so it is better to take 6 weeks and go back early than to take two weeks and pass out from dehydration and exhaustion. Good luck.

    Help! Severe constipation

Put in a suppository and take a very warm shower - it will help you relax to pee, then an enema if that doesn't get it moving. Preparation H for the hemorrhoids that are likely the bleeding issue. Going forward colace, miralax daily and suppositories until you get more regular. Sorry you are miserable most of us have been there.
  21. You are one brave amazing man. Praise God you are alive. That hospital should be ashamed of your treatment and thank God for that doctor that kept you alive.

    Approved today!!!!

Wahoo for the short-timer!!! Good luck!
  24. My surgeon's office staff (psych and NUT) are relatively new to doing a group, they have had maybe 6 meetings, our surgeon is newer here, maybe two years in this area? Anyway the mtgs are a mix of postop and nearly scheduled preops, and attendance is around 17 people, I have been to 3 mtgs. The NUT acts uninterested in being there, and contributes as required. The Psych is amazing and engaging, my intuition has me thinking he is a wls patient himself? There have been testimonials, a plastic surgeon, a physical trainer presenting. It's okay. I would like it to be more of a collaboration and that might happen because this last time they emailed attendees for feedback on the group. I have contributed clothing for a possible clothing closet, protein shakes I just could not tolerate after surgery, and a bunch of self help books and WW cookbooks that I didn't want anymore. All in the hopes that it would help someone and promote the group spirit.
