    Comparison

Oh girl, don't stress - your weight loss for 8 months is amazing!!! I hate it when people try to make this some kind of contest - we all need to just be cheerleaders for each other and not try to 'one up' each other in the process. It's going to be your own finish line and no one else's.

    Feeling devastated

Yay! Congrats doing a happy dance for you!!
  3. Keep doing this Kate, have faith in the recovery.

3 days post op seeking reassurance

Relax. These are all part of recovery. Just follow the rules and let your body heal and follow your surgeon's plan.
  5. Your post sounds anxious, you need to find the source of the anxiety - you might be using food as your medication for that. Eating simple carbs will make you crave more of them. Go back to basics - dense protein, then vegetables, then small small amount of grain carb or fruit, but for at least two weeks I would do just protein and vegetables. You didn't mention exercise or vitamins. Are you getting any of that in?

    Brachioplasty from He$$

So sorry for this wreck of a procedure. I pray it improves going forward. Rest and do everything you can to heal.

    Officially Overweight!

Oh yeah!!! Woot woot!!! I can't wait to get there myself!!!
  10. I like to copy 'the idea of the trend' but without looking like a circus clown (except my square dance costumes where I can wear whatever outrageous colored petticoats I want). I have seen too many women wearing short shorts/skirts that should not, and too many older women hiding grey hair with their 20yr old hair color that now looks so harsh, and if you have always had short hair that's fine, but 'shingling' the back of your hair just says 'hey I'm f*****g old and don't give a crap' and is usually unattractive. Also the opposite long-ass grey hair that has no real haircut also says 'I don't care I have had my hair like this since I was 16 dammit.' When i am back from vacation I will post a couple outfits. Ladies I think we should post pictures - even if we are not at goal - whaddya think?
  11. Keep us updated on this. It's good that it was found especially since you didn't mention any symptoms - don't get worried until you get results and hopefully the treatment will be successful.
  12. So sorry for this diagnosis (((hugs))). I hope you get some guidance. And come on here for moral support and if you just need to vent too 😻
  13. I love it, stylist did a great job!
  14. Def following this...will post on my preferences when I get them organized.

    So. Many. Appointments.

A little excessive unless you aren't required to do 6 months supervised dietician appointments, and surgery is soon. Most are spread out - cardiology clearance is usually early and 1st dietician appt, then psych eval, sleep study, then the last month is EDG, labs. In between is a monthly dietician appt.

Are we allowed to share how psych evaluation go?

Weird. And it doesn't seem as if this psych works with the bariatric department very closely because that would not happen at my clinic ever. Did you take any questionnaires or discuss support at home regarding the surgery? Was surgery even actually discussed at all? Did she evaluate you for eating disorders? After you get your approvals and your surgery date, I would write a long letter to the head of her department and copy your surgeon and recommend they find not use this person for bariatric psych evals.
  17. Man of steel! Great job!

    Vajayjay changes

Right after surgery my whole body was drier - skin, hair, nails, etc because of not getting enough liquids, and not getting much nutrition - fats, calories, micronutrients from fruits and vegetables. And depending on your age and hormones, there are lots of changes going on and it's a crap shoot trying to figure out reactions and what is causing them. For me presently at 5 months postop, and over a decade post menopause the 'old gal' is a little less dry than before surgery but she isn't 18 any more either lol.

    My secret sleeve journey

Stay strong, you can do this. Good luck!
  20. Thank you for sharing your story and congrats on having a healthier life.
  21. I think if there is fat in the loose skin you could def pinch the fat there and tell, just skin would be like an empty ball sack.

    Considering cancelling surgery

I ate tuna and cottage cheese on the 10 day liquid protein diet, I was nearly passing out on 800 caloeies of protein shakes and those few ounces of tuna and cottage cheese help me make it through, but I did do clear only the last two days as prescribed, and I am fully committed to my sleeve. I have a friend that also had ONLY a 3-day liquid diet, not 10 and she did fine w/o the liver shrink of 10 days, plus she went straight to mushy food at 3 days as per her physician. I still have no major hunger at 5 months, I need food and can tell an empty stomach plus fuzzy brain means I need to eat something. I don't crave anything. I have eaten off plan with desserts on a cruise I took, but it has not caused me to go crazy craving carbs - I could be lucky, or maybe there is a timer set to go off somewhere and these benefits will disappear (or government legislation who knows lol). I don't intend to test this out very often, I also don't intend to be a martyr or pretend to have all the answers. This is very dependant on each individual's response and the work you must do to understand your relationship with food.

    Considering cancelling surgery

Don't cancel. Do the surgery, but get counseling along the way, as what you really need is support to sort it out. The surgery makes overeating difficult, especially in the early stages which makes forced success easier. You sound like it's anxiety causing this off the rails 'let's cancel surgery' fear of failure or fear of success - which is where counseling will help. And a reminder here - stalls WILL happen and you WILL have to deal with it, this is a learning experience. Go forward not backward. Good luck.

What do you guys do for fun?

I make jewelry or sew or square dance. Oooo @Creekimp13 I wann play mission impossible!!! So jealous. I did dress up as the Man from U.N.C.L.E. for Halloween in 6th grade and Emma Peel from the Avengers was my idol.
  25. The stall has sort of broken - I am down a pound, at least it is not teetering back and forth but staying gone, so ssshhhh (whispering gently so as not to spook it). I refuse to update my profile until it stays off a whole week. 😆👙
