What insurance company?

How would you have reacted?
Sosewsue61 replied to EsoKev's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It may have been a 'left-handed' compliment of sorts - that you appeared mobile and healthy enough to do weight loss on your own. It wasn't that long ago that bariatric patients needed to be a lot larger than 40 bmi to even be considered. You are not likely to have any more interactions with this nurse. -
You look amazing already!!! (Can I ask what you before and after stats?)

Why am I hungry???
Sosewsue61 replied to moondoggie1983's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can be physically hungry as you are only getting 400 calories in for a day. You will feel more satisfied once you start real food. Your digestive system has a lot of work to do right now - healing - so relax and just take the stages as they come. It gets easier. I found the 'desire' for food greatly diminished, but if your stomach is empty you will notice that plus lots of digestive noises - rumbling, gas, etc. -
Congrats y'all!!!! See you on the other side of the fence soon!

Suggestions for a weekend of being around a lot of food!
Sosewsue61 replied to Nanajoy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You can always take a large purse and pack a protein bar or some string cheese and slink away to 'freshen up' and nibble something nutritious. Most hostesses/establishments serve salad, and a meat dish. Hydrate well ahead of time. Offer to bring or just bring an edible fruit sculpture as a thank you gift. Have fruit and cake and just take two bited of cake and finish with fruit. Take some knitting or something to keep your hands busy, offer to help serve or clean up to keep from eating seconds. Pour drinks, etc. -
Totally different! Great job! And you look younger too!

33 Weeks Left in 2018
Sosewsue61 replied to TakingABreak's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ash don't panic, and don't put so much pressure on the numbers. Just stay the steady course, you will get to a weight you like - because you want to and will work at it. Appreciate the process as you go - admire the hard work along the way because the end isn't the only prize. -
Not doing great with protein
Sosewsue61 replied to ewms's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try Isopure ready-made blue raspberry diluted w crystal light lemonade. And premier protein ready-made from Walmart vanilla. Nothing chocolate worked for me and still a little iffy.... you sometimes had food aversions after this surgery, and it's hit or miss on which ones for everyone. Hang in there, it does improve with time. Right now super super important to hydrate like crazy, always carry a bottle of something. -
History of failed weight loss
Sosewsue61 replied to lizaelle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your best answer will come from your insurance company, email them through their online portal - create a login, and ask them specific questions. For instance - do Weight Watchers records count, do Dr visit doscussions on weight plus weigh-in count, how many months of records suffice. Also ask - if I lose or gain weight during the 6 month supervised visits disqualify me for surgery, what bmi qualifies for surgery - do you determine this from starting bmi or after 6 months? What other issues would cause disqualification - if I gain one month, but have a net loss of 2 pounds is that acceptable? Forum answers can only give you OUR insurance /surgeon experiences. Good luck. -
After wls, I am way colder all the time in general, not just feet and hands.

Boss Wants Me to Delay Surgery
Sosewsue61 replied to clabelle2007's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can always put the blame on the surgeon/hospital for the scheduling. 'The hospital has scheduling policies and I can't change it unless it is a true emergency, so this is the date.' And DO NOT APOLOGIZE, this is not like you made a 'mistake' at work, it is your health and you are important and worth it. Would they ask you to postpone a knee surgery? Very nerve-y and out of line IMO. -
High Protein Snack Foods

With that fish in foil and lemon add some baby spinach leaves on top - works for salmon too. -
one week post op weight stall
Sosewsue61 replied to connie123lok's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Get a grip, you are not stalled. You just had major surgery and you have inflammation, you had anesthetic and IV fluids and your body needs time. Follow the plan, follow the plan, follow the plan. Plus your bowels are probably not regular yet either... You will be fine. Relax. Get sleep. -
WOW! Great job!!! Such a difference!!

Has anyone stalled for 3 months? Or more?
Sosewsue61 replied to Aginn10's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I doubt if you are done. And yes, I have been stalled for 4 months. I am doubling my exercise this week to see if that has any effect. I read different approaches and I think it takes experimentation for each person to break through it. Some increase protein to 100gr and water to 120oz and up the activity. Some up calories for 3 days, then drop them to 800 for 2 days, and keep doing that to jolt the metabolism. Some people try new foods instead of the same menu - like eat fish for dinner for a week, or eat breakfast foods for dinner. I am trying to remain hopeful as possible. -
Folding the damn laundry.

VSG candidate, boyfriend NOT onboard!
Sosewsue61 replied to Futuresleevie18's topic in Rants & Raves
I would do the surgery. It's really a shame your bf has this attitude. And disrespectful, too - he has no idea how hard it is to be obese - MAJOR SURGERY is not the easy way out. You can do this if you commit to the whole process your surgical team gives you. Anyone that really really loves you would still support YOU, even if they didn't believe in the surgery. So tell him straight up, ' it's okay if you have this opinion but I am doing it anyway, this isn't about you! '. Some partners are afraid of the changes, insecure, and some are afraid of complications - but saying 'it's the easy way out' is a judgement call directly against YOU - that isn't real love IMO. Good luck and Welcome aboard! -
Many physicians recommend what brands they prefer. It's hard to take whole pills right after surgery and chewable bariatric vitamins are encouraged for the first month. Calcium citrate is a separate mineral not to be taken with the multi or iron - take in between those two. I use Rainbow light calcium. I started with Celebrate multi and transitioned to 2 Centrum 50+ for women with an extra B-1. I take B-12, Biotin and Folic Acid extra as well - no special brand.

I tend to agree that a lot of labels are flying around too loosely defined and used to sensationalize nearly everything to such an extent that real events involving crimminal activity get ignored or lumped in with a total non-event.
