    H pylori positive?

I took the two VILE antibiotics or 10 days and then started the preop diet, then surgery. The pills are bitter, take with a sip of milk, and I was sensitive to one of then - made my ears ring horribly and had dark urine - just be aware.
  2. Please consult a physician sooner rather than later. Good luck.

    Snacks YES OR NO

@AshAsh1 I agree. A type I is so much different than type II, and unless you are educated or are a type I, you cannot approach this disease casually. I have two (now grown) type I children and even they have unique circumstances, my daughter can bottom out very quickly, and the tighter your control the easier/faster a low bs can happen - my son does not react the same way she does. Other hormones greatly affect the insulin hormone, as can vigorous exercise, lack of sleep, etc. It is not just a matter of eating.
  4. Try soups. Try a clear protein drink instead of thick shake. Hang in there it gets better as you heal.
  5. @Creekimp13 - quick question - where you using anything at all prior to trying bio oil? Ok..on vacation #3 Garmin take me to Walgreens please...

    Sex

Yes and yes. Just a suggestion, ask your doc: sometimes taking wellbutrin (antidepressant) can stabilize PMS, AND increase sex drive. It is one of the antidepressants that is also easier to stop taking as well, little to no side effects. I take it seasonally for 'winter blues', but it jump starts the desire.
  8. Also books by Geneen Roth. A lot of overeating is unmet needs, lack of confidence, anxiety, fear. We are self-soothing in order to gain some 'calmness' or 'numb our feelings' (to avoid facing an issue). We are all a work in progress, all day every day - the only way to improve is to start.

    I got a date !

Sf popsicles for hydration, bone broth, premier protein ready-made (Walmart), Isopure ready-made blue raspberry (vitamin shoppe). This stage bites but you will manage and survive. For puree stage just use bone broth and soft chicken, I cooked celery, carrots and onion in the broth then strained it out, added chicken and used my stick blender - you can even use some cream of chicken soup. Also blended black bean soup. Time off - I would take two weeks because you MUST stay hydrated and that means sipping constantly, and because you cannot consume many calories, you can get light-headed and dehydrated before you realize it, and BAM be in serious trouble. Plus it is major surgery - just because it is done laparscopically doesn't mean recovery is a picnic. It's very tolerable, but you need to be careful.

How often do you weigh yourself?

    Daily, even before surgery.

You look wonderful and wonderfully happy too! Thank you for the pictures. How about sharing your whole story!!

    Feeling not ready

Don't wait. I say that because you deserve to be healthy, get excited about how much fun it will be to run in the park with your kids, ride bikes and go hiking in the Grand Canyon!!! And I say it because you will still enjoy food, less food but good food. Your head will need adjusting all along the way, so schedule a couple sessions, book the surgery, and then continue to go as changes/fears arise. Good luck.

    SLEEP LOSS?!?

Hormones are all kind of messed up after surgery, and it could be that. Also get more fluid in during the day. Also don't take your multi vitamins late in the day - if I take any B vitamins in the afternoon, they keep me awake. I take Triple Calm magnesium (Amazon) at night. Worth a shot.

    Help, I'm stuck!

Is there anywhere near you to get a dexascan- measures body fat, bone mass? It may help you determine your calorie needs as 1200 is really low for your height/weight and running. You may need to add more protein and more fat - avocado, coconut oil, etc. And do eat carbs right after running - you need that quick refuel. Then try 16:8 intermittent fasting - where you only eat in an 8 hour window. I have been stalled for awhile and I am doing IF, plus extra 30 on treadmill and the scale is budging some this week. Good luck.

    Overnight Bag Worries

Only take a picture ID, don't take your wallet. Don't wear jewelry. Only pack your needed items - lip balm, slippers, robe, comfy clothes for ride home - soft bra, undies, sweats/workout pants, top, cell phone and charger. Turn phone off and bury it in the bag - or give it to your BIL until he gets off work.

    Built In Early Warning System!

Yep, I get one or two of all three of them. Mainly runny nose and hiccups.

    Lost

You need adequate protein for healing and the nutrition from it and vegetables. You are one month out and should be on soft proteins - cottage cheese, scrambled/poached eggs, moistened chicken, soft fish and soft cooked vegetables. Up the liquids - try sugar free popsicles, warm tea, room temp water 30 minutes after meals. Soups with protein in them - bean soup with some soft meat in them. Eat every 3 hours to get in the minimum of 60 grams - 80 would be better of protein.
