Post Surgery Tastebuds Changes: tell me yours
BrittBritt89 replied to GeTnBackuP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hated shrimp and clams pre-op and can’t get enough of them now. -
I like Bariatric Advantage

For anyone 9-12months out I’m just curious if you guys still weigh meals, and if so how much you’re able to eat at a time?
-
@sadiebug I’ve noticed the same thing, Like yesterday for instance I was able to eat a lot of salad. My issue is that I don’t get hungry, but when I eat I rarely get that “full” feeling that so many bypass patients talk about, so it just makes me wonder how large my pouch is.

Has anyone experienced dizziness after surgery? I’m 8months post op and have noticed that when I stand from a seated position my head spins for a while and it’s been happening since a little while after my surgery.

I’ve read that any type of WLS is an automatic disqualification, but I have not found anything current. I did see though that the Air Force does not automatically disqualify you if you’ve had WLS...so my question is has anyone here had and experience with trying to enlist or actually being accepted?

So I'm 7 months post op and I still do not have the will power to stay way from chips. I started eating them again about 1-2 months ago and if I eat too many they make me feel sort of crappy, but I keep going back to them. Does anyone else have trouble with junk food?

I was stayed in the hospital for 3 days and my post op was 2 weeks later

Thank you to everyone who responded & thanks for the suggestions on alternatives

Congrats! I was incredibly sore for the fist 2 weeks after surgery. I had my surgery on a Monday, but I wasn't allowed to go home till Thursday evening.

So, I'm about 10 weeks out and I'm having trouble getting in my protein. I don't eat enough to get it in and i'm SICK of shakes... has anyone found it easier to eat protein bars? (I haven't tried any yet) but I'm considering it...

@heatherable I have not, but I'm definitely gonna give it a try. Thank you

Home post op and constipated

I was constipated for 7 days after surgery. I was so miserable that I finally called my surgeons office and I was told that I could take milk of magnesia -
Dizzy & Light headed

I'm having this same problem and was curious about why it was happening... it mostly happens when I get up from a squatting position -
I had really bad pickle cravings and would drink the juice 2 weeks after surgery. I wasn't able to eat the actual pickle till I was 4-5 weeks out

Hello, I had RNY on 1/23/17 so I am 6 weeks out. I've notice that I can eat a lot of salad... my papaerwork says not to eat more than 4-6 ounces at this point, but I'm able to eat like 5oz of salad. With other things I can usually eat about 4oz and I don't get that full feeling, but I am satisfied so I do not eat more that what I'm allowed. I'm just a little worried because I'm in the "regular foods" stage and I'm seeing most people say that their punch only holds 2-3oz. Should I be concerned?
