Same...tomorrow morning 7:15 check in. This clear liquid diet is rough. I'm struggling thru my jell-o.

Good to know. I'll make sure to pay attention to my levels. I just had my preop surgeon appt today and I am following the ERAS protocol. It's Expedited Recovery After Surgery so I will only need to stay one night barring any complications. I'm pretty happy about that. I'll start clear liquids the day of surgery...small sips. Then released the next day.

Ahh...good ol cream of wheat. Can't wait lol. After this liquid diet and not being able to partake in the family meals I will be more than happy to eat anything with them. I'm glad to hear you are able to meet the protein and liquid goals. I think my biggest fear is the unknown of not being able to drink enough to feel hydrated. So the walking is okay? No pains? How's your fatigue level. My friend said that for her fatigue was hard to deal with.

Easing into it now. I started a week early just to get it going. I'm easing into it now. I'm still very hungry at night. But I grab a handful of nuts. I'm so ready to not be hungry anymore. How are you feeling today?

That's probably where I noticed it. I have barely cracked that binder. I thought we would be using it more than we did so I've barely looked at it. Maybe I'll see you at one

Thanks for the info. I had my hysterectomy at CMC and had a really bad roommate experience so I just asked about private rooms and was told that we could pay out of pocket for a private room. I'm totally doing that. I got no rest after by hyst due to the roommate being basically crazy. I will def pack wipes! Great tip. When they said no deodorant before surgery I was freaked out. Thanks so much for all the tips and for sharing your experience. It helps to walk through it from your POV.

Oh wow. So glad it's been good so far. So they are keeping you for two nights? I can't seem to get clarity on that. I was actually there yesterday for my pre-op anesthesia appt. Dr. Wu's anesthesiologist met me at 10:20 looking like she came right out of the operating room. You were probably the one in there! Are you in a private room? Did you get the carb drink? Clearfast I think they called it. I was very dehydrated going into my hysterectomy in 2011 so I'm happy to hear that they are letting us have drinks to help with that. How are you feeling with sipping drinks? Are they concerned that you're so thirsty?

Sept 26th! This wait feels longer than the workday before vacation lol.

I'm dreading it. I know it's important and will adhere to it but man oh man am I just ready for the surgery. What's causing the headache? I thought I remembered something about the post op group too but nothing confirmed. I'll do some digging to see what I can find.

I went to the required ones at CMC but I have to admit that I was a bit unhappy with them. They always seemed like an infomercial and less informative. I did take away some small tid bit here or there but not enough to make it worth it. The protein sampling night they did wasn't the greatest. All of those proteins are so gross and low quality. And don't even get me started on the artificial sweeteners in them lol. I would love to see a "before" group and and "after" group. That would be more helpful. I do plan on trying a few more to see if I find them helpful. I'd love to keep in touch with you and see how everything is going. Dr. Wu seemed so great in the meeting I had with him so I feel like we are in very good hands.

I was hoping for Aug too but I'm Sept 26, 2017. I started the process in March and got everything done by early June and now it's the sit and wait. I'd love to keep this thread going of people from this area that have gone thru CMC. All of my pre surgery stuff has been thru NEWMI and my surgeon is Dr. Wu.
