:sad_smile:Hi everyone, I am in need of MAJOR support. I have been on the Optifast pre-op liquid diet for 10 days and have 4 more to go. Then I have two days of clear liquid only which leads me up to surgery on 4/22. I have cheated twice (once a small salad and the 2nd time a piece of chicken) but today I almost gave up everything. I was doing well; back on track and for the last 3 days I have been having Better than bouillion broth for dinner to curb my evening hunger with a frozen SF popsicle for dessert. The problem is I have also started diarrhea. (sorry to be gross) My tummy is always grumbly and everytime I eat broth I get the runs. I am feeling so distraught I want to just give in as I don't own a scale but my clothes tell me I have not lost major weight like others on this board. I'm afraid I will jeopardize it all tomorrow especially since now I afraid to eat. For dinner tonight all I had was and Optifast and tea. Someone please help me....I feel like crying..:biggrin:

Thank you for the good advice...I did get through the day one hour at a time. So now I look forward to a better tommorrow with no cravings or drama. Thanks again for the support and words of encouragement!!

Thanks to both of you for your support.....I will call the doctor tomorrow and email the PA tonight so she will get it first thing this morning. I appreciate your help to get me through another day.

Hey Pat, Katkeen, and Jeanie3b, Best of luck to all of us 4/22 including me. I am scared and on the liquid diet now. Today is day 4 and I blew it by eating a scone and a salad. I feel terrible about it but I have no will power and obviously pathetic. I know you are doing better than I so let's just keep the faith and encourage each other. I will go back on the total liquid diet again tomorrow. Today I fell off the horse but I will ride again!!

:frown:Hi everyone, I started my pre op liquid diet on Sunday and by today (Wed.) I messed it totally up. I was hungry and gave in. i had a scone and a salad. I intend to get right back on track tomorrow but only had 1 optifast shake all day. I can tell the difference..I feel sluggish and my tummy is protruding more like its bloated. I can't believe I failed so soon. I feel miserable about it and feel I am the only one who has failed. Can anyone offer me any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else or am I just a LOSER??? :crying::thumbup:

Hi my sister, I did the very same thing. Mine was a two week long "last supper" where I went to all my favorite restaurants and ate all the good home cooked stuff I could. I feel terrible and am so thankful that tomorrow I begin my 10 day liquid diet. We can do this and recognition that the will to change is necessary is the first step. I am in CT and anytime you need a buddy I am here. Good luck 5/19 my surgery is 4/22 and I am scared but looking forward to starting the next chapter of my life as a healthy woman.

Hey CTMAN, I am new to LBT and have heard of your popularity. I want to congratulate you on your surgery date and hope you are doing well. I am a 40 yr old AA female scheduled for surgery with Dr. Ehrlich on 4/22/08. How did you survive the pre-op diet...all liquid shakes for 10 days scares the heck out of me. I know I can do all things with Christ who strengthens me and he has not brougt me this far to leave me now...but I would love any help or suggestions you can offer. God Bless!!

Hi I am new to LBT and your post helped me tremendously. My boyfriend told me flat out he does not support me having lap band even though I explained the difference from the riskier gastric bypass to him. He too is heavy and feeling very insecure about it as now he is being passed over for advancement positions due to his weight. I think he is fearful that I will become thinner my feelings will change. I chose to go ahead and schedule the surgery anyhow for 4/22/08 without his knowledge. I will tell him that I am going to do it anyhow soon. My health and life are important to me and I hope he will come around but if not at least I will live long enough to find another. Thanks for some good insight.

Hello everyone, I started lurking on your board about 5 days ago...right after I scheduled the surgery date which is 4/22/08. :biggrin2: I am extremely excited and scared at the same time. My Anthem BC/BS would not pay so it falls all on me. I don't mind too much for it is an investment in me and I need to have the surgery. The surgeon is Fairfield County Bariatrics - Dr. Timothy Ehrlich. I am just trying to read everything here to make sure I am ready and know what to expect. I will have to do the 2 wk pre op liquid diet (Optifast) and am wondering what flavors are good. Guess I should buy 1 of each to try now just to be safe! Shortgal told me about the CT section. I am scheduled for sugery 4/22/08 and am scared and elated at the same time. Dr. Ehrlich is my surgeon and I need support and guidance. Right now I am worried about the 2 wk liquid pre op. Do the Optifast shakes taste good? Anyone know??? :biggrin:
