  1. I had to cancel the last appointment since I was so sick. My surgery was on 2/28. Now that I am 5 weeks out, am I still on the soft food diet or can I progress to regular food? I brought thin RYE bread, I cut it in half and use it as a vessel for other spreads. Is that bad? I know when I had enough. I do incorporate healthy food too. I drink Almond Milk with my Protein shake. I like my energy now. I feel good. HELP... I do not keep a food diary, am I supposed to? I am losing weight and I am very strict about what I eat. Pre op I was 226, now I am 212. Is 14 lbs reasonable in 5 weeks? I plan to reschedule an appt with my NUT this morning. Any other suggestions for me?? Thank you!!!
  2. I really hate clothes shopping. I went from 270 starting the bariatric program, 226 pre op and today I weigh 212. My size 26 jeans slides off so easily! Yuk. I have a very old size 24 jeans, it fits up to my belly and it won't close. So now I am not comfortable buying clothes if that is going to happen. However, the clothes look ridiculous on me now, they are all big and baggy. So I need to go to Walmart and buy maybe 2 pants since I am not working yet. I am looking for a job. Funny thing is that my big mama size undies are getting big on me now (remember I had them for a ery long time). My daughter said to me the other day, oh mom, when you get real skinny, you need to wear thongs. Heck, there is NO WAY I am wearing butt floss. I can't think about getting rid of my big momma undies yet. My bras look funny, should I add tissues? Losing weight is an adenture for me. LOL
  3. And for me, some food taste funny now like egg salad. So no, Im not surprised you find the smell repulsive. I cant handle the smell of A-1 steak sauce, ketchup and peanut butter but I will eat them. Except steak sauce.

    Questions

No carbonated beverages here per my bariatric program. I have a friend who started soda after 5 years out. But she is strict and disciplined. Still very skinny. Good for her.

    Boring!

I find the puree stage to be boring for me. I love my liquid (no alcohol or carbonated drinks). The food is not enjoyable. I prefer shakes and water. I try very hard to remember not to drink with my meals or after. I love my sugar free lime popsicles as we as other frozen sugar free. I feel kinda stuck on the food part. Is cheese ok?? Im a cheesehead-Wisc girl here. Im used to making sandwiches and now no more. I cant wait till I start using romaine lettuce in my diet. I now know what full feels like. Im good at stopping once Im full. I do soups quite a bit. Suggestions? Thanks, this board is very helpful and interesting. Im learning a lot from you guys!!

    Vomiting after surgery

Get up and walk around. You need to help the gas move. I had mine on 2/28. I promise it will get better. 4 to 6 oz every 2-3 hours.
  8. Hi. ChattyPatty from Wisc. Im a newbie here. Pre op weight 226 post op so far 221. If my stomach hurts after full liquids meal (4-6oz)- does that mean too much? If my stomach hurts after not putting anything down (busy shopping, etc) dies that mean Im hungry. I want to make sure Im doing the right thing. After my surgery, I went to ICU for one night then to heart floor for one night. I did not have the advantage of being on a bariatric floor or with staff. That is at a sister hospital. I do use chewable Prevacid. I am still in post op pain outside (sutures) and inside - tummy. Im so afraid of stretching my pouch. Thank you for your help.

    Scheduled for Monday February 27

Hi, I had mine on 2/28. I have my ups and down. I have pain in my incisions and inside my tummy too. FIrst kind of pain is when I haven't put anything down (busy) then I have broth or protien shake. Second kind I think is when I am overly full. I do my best to keep it under 6 oz. What do you think? Nice meeting you newbie!!
