Smores replied to maggieO's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have a feeling I will be weighing myself every 5 minutes. LOL. -

Smores replied to GenJones's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
That's true. I have learned a lot from this group. God Bless. -
I will say a prayer for you. You got this.

I'm hopping mine goes quick like yours. I just got done with all of my pre appointments now they are sending it all to the insurance. I'm praying I get a quick response as well. I work at a school and would love to get the surgery in early July. That would give me long enough to recover. Prayers for you.

I'm so happy for you. I'm looking forward to be where you are at right now. I'm hoping to have my surgery in July. I have most of my appointments out of the way already. The last two will be next week.

I will keep you in my prayers.

I'm praying you have a fast recovery and very little pain. Belly buttons are over rated anyways.

Lurker finally asking questions: Who did you tell?
Smores replied to Aijan's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I too had decided not to tell too many people. My BMI is just at 35 and I thought that people would say that I don't need it. But I do have health issues due to my weight. But then I changed my mind and told some of my coworkers. I too work at a school but hopefully will be having the surgery during summer break. I have been going to my pre-sugery appointments and my boss was asking me if I was ok. I then told her what I was doing and she is very supportive about the surgery. I then told a few of the people in my office. I was afraid with all of my doctor appointments that they might think I have cancer or something when I come back thinner. -
What are your thoughts, experiences?
Smores replied to shelby73's topic in GLP-1 & Other Weight Loss Medications (NEW!)
I did use Contrave and every diet out there. Contrave did not work for me. This is my last hope. I know it won't be easy but I'm ready. I'm hoping to get the sleeve surgery this July if all goes well. Good luck with everything. I will say a prayer for you. -
My stall finally broke!

Insurance hoops, need help clarifying!
Smores replied to deletedeletedelete's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's not a dumb question. I had some of the same issues with my insurance. I have a primary and secondary and the primary required me to have a bmi at 35 or more for the last 5 years. Problem is I have not. My secondary insurance does not require me to be at that bmi for that long. The only reason I'm able to get it with having a bmi at 35 is I have sleep apnea, high cholesterol, stress incontinence and bad hips. I think you only need two. I was worried about this too at the beginning as well. I will pray for you. I hope the insurance will approve you. -
My appointment with the psychologist was yesterday. He began by making sure I was aware of the details of the surgery and what is expected of me before and after. Then he asked about my childhood and my relationship with my parents. I then had 371 questions to answer. My favorite was (did I ever want to be a singer or park ranger. )LOL. Of course, everyone wants to be a singer. Other questions was( did I ever hear voices or see people that were not there.) Not anything about exercise.

I guess I said it wrong. They called BCBS and they said they covered the surgery. It's not really a pre approval. I miss spoke. Sorry.

Beautiful.

That's who I have. I'm just in the early stages of my journey. I was pre approved through the insurance but the final approval has not happened yet.
