14 Weeks Post Op - Multiple Stalls

How did you go about increasing your calories? My dietitian meal plan says to eat three meals a day and should have minimal snacking but I'm only 6 weeks out and there's no way I can consume enough food/calories in one meal. I'm thinking I might have to have snacks anyway just to get more calories and protein in.

    March sleevers hows everyone doing??

I was sleeved on 3/15 and was down 18 pounds as of Monday. I have been bouncing between 219 and 221 the past couple of weeks, which is frustrating. I was struggling getting all of my water in every day up until this week so I'm hoping that will help kickstart the weight loss again. And I've started a more intense work out routine. Part of me wonders if because I'm only getting around 600-700 calories a day, my body is going into starvation mode and holding on to everything...

    Can't drink Protein, HELP!

I'm glad I'm not the only person this happened to! I used to drink one for breakfast every morning before surgery and now I can't even stand the smell of them.
  4. Those are the ones I do drink. I don't know if it's the creaminess or the sweetness of them that just doesn't settle well after surgery. I've been able to get down about 8 oz a day trying to slowly increase that as well as my fluids.
  5. Thanks for your help! I managed to sip down some broth strained from soup and that went down okay it just seems like the protein drinks are a little thick. I'll just keep slowly sipping and trying to get at least 4 oz of fluid an hour.
  6. I had surgery on 3/15 and today I was released to full liquids and am able to drink protein drinks now. However, I can't seem to get down more than 2 oz at a time and my diet plan says to get 4 oz for every meal. I've only gotten in about 4.5 oz all day. Did anyone else have this trouble in the beginning with trying to get your protein in? Also, any tips for getting enough fluids? I really don't want to get dehydrated.

    Sleeved yesterday! (15 March)

Had my surgery yesterday as well! I did get up a few times throughout the night to pee. Currently just have a lot of pressure on my upper stomach I think just from gas. Got to start my clear liquids today! Hope you're recovery goes smoothly!!

    Pre-Op Diet

Personally, I didn't find it to be as bad as I thought it would be. The first few days were hard for me, not necessarily because I was hungry but because I missed the sensation of chewing. I'm on my last day of pre-op diet (surgery tomorrow) and I can proudly say I didn't cheat once! I just kept reminding myself that the pre-op diet was for my own good for surgery. I also relied heavily on chicken broth because I was getting really tired of the sweet protein shakes. Also, sugar free popsicles and jello are great options too! Good luck!!

    Liquid diet day 1

No, you've been very helpful!! I plan to take full advantage of the SF popsicles and jello. I didn't think about using the ramen flavor packs. I'll have to try that out again! Everything I've read says the first few days are the hardest so if I can just make it past those and think about why I'm doing this I'll be fine! Thanks again! And good luck with your journey as well!

    Liquid diet day 1

I have to do it for ten days. I'm going to drink some chicken broth and use some for the injury chicken soup powder and hope that helps!
